I've stayed at Hotel Monaco several times for business trips to Seattle, and I love it! It's in a great location downtown, and the hotel and room decor have more unique character compared to your standard hotel.Recommended for:

This place was really nice. The rooms were huge and full of funky touches like leopard print bathrobes. The beds were comfortable. The wifi is normally paid for, but they gave it to us free for a promotion. Great for business travelers or for family.Recommended for:

Wonderful hotel if you are going to stay in Seattle. They are pet friendly and like all kimpton hotels have great customer service and adorable styling.
While it's a couple blocks off the main path if you don't mind walking to your tourist destinations like Pike Place or the shopping district it's a lovely hotel.

The staff at this hotel were fantastic when I visited, and all the vouchers for drinks at the bar downstairs definitely didn’t hurt! Right when you walk in you get a feel for their interesting decor - the lobby is kind of yellow and the walls are painted with fish and dolphins. The walls in the guestroom were striped and the chair was leopard printed. But it’s all very comfortable, too – it was a good-sized room, the beds were great, and the work table was nice and big, with plenty of outlets for laptops, phone chargers, etc. As far as location goes, you’re pretty much in the financial district, which is busy during the day but fairly quiet at night. There are some bars around, and tons of restaurants and shopping. Pioneer Square is just a few blocks south, and you can take the Monorail from Westlake Center to get to the Space Needle in just a few minutes.

Say you have a pet, but you didn’t bring it with you on your trip. The concierge at Hotel Monaco will bring you a goldfish. A real goldfish, in a bowl, to keep you company. That is how fun this hotel is. (You can bring your pet, too - it’s pet friendly!) The lobby and rooms are colorful and “luxury,” but still kind of wacky and personal. The rooms are a really good size, and the location is great – right by Westlake Center, close to the theatre, the library, and the art museum, and halfway between Belltown and Pioneer Square. It’s also a pretty short walk to get to the waterfront. Definitely check out the happy hour in the restaurant downstairs (Sazerac) - I love the bacon wrapped figs and the truffle balls, but really, it’s all good. They also make a great Manhattan, and wine runs from $3 to $6 a glass.Recommended for:
