Lovely property. The iconic place to stay in Cusco. The grounds, art collection, and service are exquisite. The pricing is exorbitant but worth it for the history. Rooms are small but attractive. Be sure to visit the chapel.

Stunning hotel, stuffed full of mestiso paintings. We really enjoyed our two short stays, first in a junior suite and then in the royal suite. Exceptional service and surroundings.

I've stayed here twice and both times were amazing. It ranks in the top 10 coolest hotels I've ever stayed in.The hotel is a 16th century monastery with beautiful gardens and Baroque-style decorated communal rooms that you can explore. There's so much art work that the place is like a museum. It has this fantastic energy to it. Plus, the deluxe guest rooms are oxygenated which can help you avoid missing out on your vacation due to altitude sickness.

It's an extremely expensive and luxorious hotel built inside an old Monastery. I haven't stayed in it (no way I could aford it).

So my review only concerns the internal part of it. That part is open to visitation and well worth to look.

I'm really not a fan, I've stayed at the hotel twice. The rooms and hotel are quite charming, but the service and expectation just were not there. For oxygenated rooms I had a hard time breathing as when I left the room momentarily, the maid entered to "freshen up" the room and sprayed it with chemicals. That combined with the pollution from the streets, and altitude and I felt very sick immediately. I switched rooms, and it was bit better. In the dining room we needed water as we were dehydrated and suffering altitude sickness, and it was next to impossible to get any waiters attention. The hotel was posh for sure! But definitely not for me. I slept better at the Novotel, and had an abundance of water! I also had a fantastic time at La Casona, where I was treated as a welcomed guest. At the Monasterio, I was one among many, and the hotel just did not live up to the hype.
