It’s a block off the shore, close to the Port and quite central to getting to the Ancient Medina and surrounding shopping areas. The Moroccan decor throughout the hotel is nice but gave me the impression it was trying to hard to create a ‘traditional’ look. The small sized double room had separate beds with fancy and colorful bed dressings that felt cozy but I wished the bathroom had a bathtub instead of just a shower. They offer free wifi and breakfast in a cozy and cool looking restaurant area on the mezzanine. Service and Hamman is so so, feels like they’re under staffed for their needs and space is limited in general but overall a clean place.

This is definitely a unique hotel, bursting at the seams with ‘Moroccan flavor, with ornate mouldings, tiles covering just about everything and multiple rooms lines with cushions and Moroccan furniture to lounge in. They provide free WiFi, you can opt for the buffet breakfast, and it is located in the heart of the city, close to the Old Medina, right next to the coast road and near the train station. That said, I found the service extremely poor, from the phone conversation beforehand, to the reception I received upon entering, to the harried porter showing me to the room. The overall impression was of over-worked, irritated staff. I also found the ambiance of the hotel to be cold, despite all the fluff, it was not a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a hamman, go elsewhere. This one is more like someone’s old home bathroom and has plastic buckets, random utensils and cheap products lying around.

OK, you have to love kitsch to appreciate this place, but even if you don't, it might be worth subjecting yourself to some overdecoration for a night just because the place is great value. The rooms are done up in a ridiculous amount of chintz and gauze and tassels, and decorated in one of four colors (I got pink on one stay, and green on another; blue looked the most sensible, at least from outside the room). There's free wi-fi, a big breakfast spread (don't miss the donuts in the hot case) for a small extra price, great water pressure and loads of toiletries in the bathroom (plus a mug that said Merry Christmas! on it--see, kitsch). Staff are quite nice, if not totally strong on English (really depends who's working), and the location on the edge of the Centre Ville is very handy.
