Do not be fooled by the website! This place is more like a hostel than an actual hotel, and an expensive hostel at that. There is no restaurant, just a breakfast area on the second floor. Besides the website being extremely misleading it was not the worst place I have slept in. But I am sure you can find better hotels for the same price. Really the only amazing thing about the hotel is that it is so close to the Hagia Sophia.Recommended for:Budget Travelers

This hotel definitely has location in its favor – in Sirkeci, on the edge of Sultanahmet – most of the old city attractions are just a short walk away, and the tram stop to get you to the Beyoglu/Taksim side is about a block down. It is definitely not a new hotel, and there was something dingy and musty about it. The first room they showed me to was very small and basic, but I learned that depending on availability, you can get a slightly bigger and better room for the same price, and one happened to be open. Make sure to ask for the biggest room available for the price when you book a room. There was no view from the room, but they provide a buffet breakfast and free WiFi. Unfortunately, issues with WiFi means it doesn’t always work in the room.

Hotel Pamphylia is overall very clean and the location is incredible! It is located just next to the Gulhane tramway station which is near the Archeology Museum, Basilica Cistern, Hippodrome, and all the other must-see sites. I loved that from the hotel I could walk to practically everything in just a few minutes. After a tiring tour through the hustle and bustle of Istanbul's old city, it is nice to walk into a clean and calm hotel! The rooms have an eclectic bed and breakfast feel. One of the best aspects is the view from the restaurant's teras of the Haghia Sophia! It's a wonderful place to sip cay and soak in all the history of Istanbul.Recommended for:History Buffs
