This place is all about location, hands down. Given that and the neat, clean, although basic quality, you couldn’t do much better for the price. The room reminded me of an old-school Greek grandma’s house, everything quaint and cozy, but definitely from an era past. The same went for the restaurant, completely reminiscent of an old-school Greek ‘taverna’. This was obviously not by design; rather it’s just been maintained well in its original style. They do keep up with the times however, with free WiFi. A couple nice offerings here are the bicycle rental, and letting pets stay free. This may be a simple, basic hotel, but hanging out on the balcony, looking out over Apostolou Pavlou St., closed to car traffic, on the edge of the Acropolis, lined with cafes and restaurants, is hard to beat for any price.

The quaint and warm double room reminds me of a child’s room with a blue and yellow color scheme and tassels on the bed covers. The old generation humble-home quality wooden bed frames aren’t the most comfortable but Wow was this room clean and organized. It’s a 3 star hotel with a 4 star feel. With almost no amenities and a small plain looking breakfast area, this hotel remains in my heart because it offers a nostalgic and authentic 1960’s vibe / decor. Not sure if it’s deliberate or not but the feel is great and the balcony view of the Acropolis at close range makes the grade. The night life walks up and down the street below which is closed to cars. The neighborhood is filled with cool bars, cafes and restaurants all looking to the Acropolis and Thesion train station is a 2 minute walk.
