After the lovely arched entrance and marble floors, I was surprised by the hostel feeling inside the room. It was fine – just not a super loved feeling. Nice and cool in the heat though and a great location to boot. It was great to feel sealed in from the noise of the city. There were always people around so I felt really safe the whole time. This is a fair choice for budget travel.

A budget option that lacks in care and atmosphere, the Hotel Primavera feels like a generic grandma's house, with blue lacy tablecloths in the breakfast room, yellow bedspreads on the simple beds, and a bit of knick knack style clutter lying about. It wins points for location, as it's within spitting distance of Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, and around the corner from Cul de Sac, a wicked little wine bar/restaurant. That being said, I'd rather pay a little more and have a slightly more comfortable and interesting experience.

Tucked into a typical Roman palazzo with a big courtyard around the stairwell, the Hotel Primavera is a sound option for the budget traveller. It's family owned, a fact which shows through in the decor which seems to include some of nonna's tchotchkes here and there. It definitely hasn't been recently renovated, but the site can't be beat...extremely close to Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, not to mention the Pantheon. Central-issimo.
