It has the ‘Mars’ night club and cafe on the ground floor that operates at night giving me the feeling that Humphrey Bogart is going to swing around the corner at any second! It’s an old world 4 star hotel that may not be up to the international 4 star standard but is still a clean and delightful place. It has a 60’s modernist style with touches of morocco through out it’s look. I feel that clean and simple is the rule with no frills. Renovations will produce a gym at some point but for now it’s cool for a simple and european standard 3 star hotel and the location is good for the tourist attractions in the expanded region. I found the red taxis where the best way around the winding city roads.

As the porter in traditional Moroccan dress opened the door for me, I felt like I was stepping back in time, but not so far as to be overly charming. The hotel had an older feel to it, with some typical Moroccan touches, like the cushion-lined lounge area to sip tea in. The older Moroccan men lining the lobby lounge seemed to be right at home. It’s clean with well-kept décor and furnishings. Although the spa wasn’t available when I was there, the fact that it was closed for renovations holds promise. The room was basic and comfortable in a grandmotherly way. The restaurant where the free breakfast is served is also where dinner is offered, and there is an attached bar area as well. For those so inclined, there is a dance club around the corner, attached to the hotel, but if you’re not, be sure to get a room on the other side of the hotel.Recommended for:Budget Travelers
