What a gorgeous hotel. It's located in one of the most disarming little ivy covered piazzas in Rome, just behind Piazza Navona, and epitomizes luxury. The rooms are divided into classic and modern, there are Picasso ceramics decorating the lobby, and the service is top-notch.Recommended for:

The service at the Hotel Raphael is really remarkable. They go the extra mile: they checked our birthdates on our passports and then, without even a hint, left a generous Happy Birthday welcome package in the room when they noticed it was my companion's day!) I was delighted by the fact that you can choose the style of your room-- classic or americana architecture with a glass tub. The rooftop terrace has three levels plus an indoor area for inclimate weather. The indoor part is not quite as nice, but does feature real Picasso ceramics. They are generous with the extras, like the shampoo. Two thumbs up!Recommended for:

Just behind Piazza Navona, you could walk right by the Hotel Raphael a million times without imagining that behind its unassuming awning is a magical hotel combining classic and modern architecture and featuring an impressive collection of art.Recommended for:

This is surely one of Rome's coolest hotels. Tucked into a tiny little piazza and covered in ivy, it's got continental atmosphere written all over it from the get-go. The reception is adorned with Picasso ceramics and medieval tapestries. Super firm beds kept my spine really happy, while Bulgari toiletries took care of my skin in style. Some of the rooms are classic style, but some are designed by Richard Meier (the guy who encased the Ara Pacis in glass) so you can have your pick of ultra modern or restrained elegance. To top it off, it was my friend's birthday while we were here and they sent us a cake. Grazie, Hotel Raphael.

Hotel Raphael is a fantastic hotel in the perfect location. It is right off Piazza Navona and a short distance from almost anywhere else you would want to go. It is well worth the money.
And if you are looking for tours, I would recommend using Context Tours. The docents are all well educated in the and or archeology. You will learn a lot and enjoy every minute of it.
