This is actually a pretty chill, laid back bar. I'm only speaking of the bar area, not the B&B. They make really good kamikazee's, or any mixed drink rather. That's more their specialty than beer. It's darkly lit, and not too loud, but not quiet enough that you hear aeveryone else. There's no dancing, but there is light music playing. ...

Definitely go at night when it is just eerily beautiful to behold. Roman grandeur writ very large. And it's a lot of fun too, especially navigating the crowds and climbing the steps.

Great place to watch the sunset in Rome. The drawback is that it can get a bit crowded with all the tourists and people hawking their wares. There is an elevator from the Spagna metro stop to the top for those that might have issues climbing all the stairs. It is worth climbing up for some decent panoramas of the ...

at the foot of the Spanish Steps and at the beginning of the main shopping street, the Piazza di Spagna is almost always filled with people: hanging out, taking in the sun, being tourists...I like the energy here. If I wasn't so busy heading off to shopping, I would stop by here to just be, too.

The Borghese Gallery is not your normal art gallery, the most exquisite paintings are not hanging from the wall, instead they are part of the ceiling and walls. Every room had a theme, sculptures and decorative paintings lines the room, but the center of attention is above and all around. Each room had multilingual guides that maps out the layout ...

Rome is filled with precious pieces of art history that a traveler in a hurry could overlook, and this church is one. Secreted inside is Bernini's masterwork Ecstasy of Saint Teresa, a prime example of sensual Baroque sculpture.

Presidential palace, formerly the temporal home of the papacy when the pope still ruled the papal states. Definitely the case that the presidential court in Italian has all the trappings of monarchy. Grand and yet somehow understated.

Near Termini, a visit here was the perfect choice for me on a cool rainy Roman day. Wow was I pleasantly surprised! Not only do they have TWO amazing Greek bronzes (really rare, and I was disappointed that the Boxer was at the Met in NYC during my visit) but they also have an eye-opening collection of Roman mosaics. On four corners of a traffic-choked intersection sit these four fountains, representing two rivers (the Tiber and Arno) and two goddesses (Diana and Juno) preside peacefully, adding a Renaissance flair to what would otherwise be a routine commute. We think this typifies the 'local' experience in Rome; daily mundane activities against a backdrop of truly incredible art.

Step through the unassuming entrance to this amazing church located in a building that used to house Roman baths. You will be greeted by a grand dome topped with an incredible stained glass image of the solar system. Inside, you can admire the old meridian which, until the mid 1800s, was used to set the clocks in Rome.

This is a very cute nightclub. It is developed underground. The environment is very cool, with high antique ceilings and columns. The contrast is the stylish furniture. It is very crowded during weekends and there are often alive shows.

Great museum to spend an afternoon in- it's not nearly as crowded as many of the other sites, which allows for a lot less stress. I saw the National Geographic 125th Anniversary exhibition here and absolutely loved it. There are always rotating exhibitions, when I was there they had 2 running. Also they accept student cards for a discount!
