Right on Austin's famous South Congress, near the lake and springs, this is arguably the coolest hotel in Austin with a phenomenal maze of outdoor walkways and courtyards covered by trees and ivy. It's relatively pricey, if you can't afford to stay the night you're welcome to enjoy the outdoor bar by the pool.

The Hotel San Jose is home to the most often photographed pool in Austin: it is that beautiful and photogenic. The bar is very chill and takes care with their cocktails. Sip slowly and take in the tranquil vibe. The rooms are coveted by savvy travelers who appreciate quality, and the excellent South Congress location.

Located right along South Congress, this fun and funky boutique hotel has great rooms, and even better pool, and one of the best bars in the city to lounge and enjoy a cocktail, whether you are staying there or not. Many celebrities have called this home for extended stays over the years.

Hotel San Jose is a quintessential Austin hotel with a soul. The chic modern oasis, located in the heart of the bustling South Congress neighborhood, San Jose offers intimate, artfully designed hotel rooms, as well as a picturesque courtyard that is open to the general public. Fabulous retail and dining options are all just a short walk away.

Hotel San Jose started the boutique hotel trend in Austin. With its killer location - you've got Guero's right next door (some of the best carnitas in town), the Continental Club across the street (an original rockabilly venue since 1950) and tons of funky second hand and vintage shops all along South Congress - its no wonder Hotel San Jose is tops with the SXSW crowd.

My favorite place to stay in Austin!!!

Quirky and classy this boutique hotel encapsulates what is cool about Austin. The grounds are lovely and the bar lively. The location is excellent as well.

Gorgeous, classy simplicity, and location location location! Smack in the middle of the every-bustling SoCo strip of boutiques and restaurants, San Jose still manages to preserve a sense of separateness.

I'm a local, but I went with the affordable option of a shared-bathroom/private room one nomadic birthday, and I loved my spacious desk for writing postcards and the attention to detail, like gourmet-scented, paraben-free soap! The tiny balcony that overlooked the busy sidewalks is a voyeur's dream-come-true for people watching - no one looks up! Everything from the ivy-covered entrance to the tucked-away tiny pool and fresh pastries/coffee available (from the adjacent Jo's Coffee) spell "sweetest way to get away in the middle of it all." And the staff didn't flinch when I registered under an obviously fabricated name for privacy.

Even the un-athletic can walk minutes to great food, shopping, coffee, music, trailer eateries, or even to explore the famed "South Austin" neighborhoods full of succulents, yuppies, and hippies all living in harmony.

Overrated! The service is poor, the patio chairs are so short like a kindergarten desk, the drinks are overpriced. I haven't stayed at the hotel, but if you're just going for cocktails, give this place a miss!

A cool , hip hotel in the heart of Soco Austin . It is a bit pricey, the room are on the small side, but location is the word here . You can walk to great restaurants and stores. Allan's boots is two minutes away, perla's and south congress cafe . The patio is a great lace for a glass of wine while shopping, and you don't need to be a guest!

    #BeOut

There is a bar in the Hotel San Jose that serves some good drinks. A lot of musicians stay at that hotel so it may be a good spot to see some performers.

In the heart of Austin lies and enclave of style and respite. Different prices for each budget and location (times 3). Really, this is the place you want to stay. Book it early. Enjoy

Excellent bar to grab a glass of wine in before you hit downtown.
