I loved walking up to this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the stylish, understated brick facade on the front - reminded me of a boutique hotel you would find in NYC! Though not the largest or swankiest of hotels in the downtown area, I think the Hotel Victoria has great character, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and a storied history to boot.
The hotel has a great feel to it - marble flooring/walls, wood tiling, chandeliers, and stylish club chairs look great in the lobby. The rooms are equally well decorated, though I could lose the mustard yellow accents around the room.
There are not a whole lot of amenities at the Hotel Victoria, but considering the price and location, the very helpful staff, and the style/feel of the place, I think its a great option!

This is a really cute and stylish boutique hotel right downtown, steps from Union Station and the charming St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood. Built over a 100 years ago, the hotel has a storied history and used to be a landmark on the Yonge Street strip. Now, it's overshadowed by the large towers flanking it on either side, but it's old-fashioned brick facade makes it stand out even more as something solid and lasting in an increasingly glass and steel world. The lobby is small but stylish, with a few parlour-style sitting pieces scattered about. Rooms are spacious and comfy, designed in a funky palette of black, white and mustard - which should be off-putting, but is actually really cool and calming to the senses. Washrooms are simple, beige and clean. There's a yummy breakfast/brunch spot on-site that gets crazy-busy on weekends, and plenty of other food options within walking distance, making this hotel an excellent base from which to explore the city. Free Wi-fi and access to the nearby Goodlife Fitness club add value.
