With a view of the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace, Hotel Vitale garners a top spot on our 'favorite hotels for foodies' list. Its Italian farmhouse restaurant isn't your ordinary hotel diner; their handmade pasta dishes and homemade wood-fired oven pizzas would confuse even the most Italian of mamas. Plus, the hotel is just a stone-ground grit's throw from the Ferry Building, as well as Chinatown, Italian North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf (where you won't find much fine dining, but who needs more than hot clam chowder in a bread bowl on a windy day?).Recommended for:

Wonderful hotel on the Embarcadero, with a stunning view of the Bay Bridge. The entire staff, from the doorman to the concierge, to the bartenders in Americano and the housekeeper, was extremely welcoming and hospitable. I stayed in an amazing room with a breathtaking bay view on the 7th floor (there are 8 floors in this lovely boutique hotel). Although there was no jacuzzi tub, there was a huge shower with a rainfall shower head and the bathroom was stocked with Fresh products - my favorite! The bed was super comfy with pillows that I wanted to take home with me.Recommended for:

Hotel Vitale is a beautiful spa hotel with the best view of the Bay Bridge and ideally located near the Ferry Building. They offer FRESH brand bath products, which are amazing. I also thought it was pretty great to walk into the lobby and smell fresh lavender everyday.

Can't beat the location a block from the Embarcadero, which makes the bay view rooms amazing. Perfect view of the bay bridge and the ferry building. If you're stuck in a city room, you can still enjoy the view from the rooftop terraces with lounge chairs and space heaters--a must in SF!
Excellent customer service. They try to accommodate every request, including placing a complimentary mini fridge in your room (for all those farmers market purchases!).
Not a perfect rating because the phone in our room didn't work, making it difficult to contact the front desk. And one of my towels had a spot of blood on it.
But still recommended for your next stay in SF.Recommended for:

If you want a really hip hotel that is close to everything, then i would highly recommend Hotel Vitale. With great views and interesting decor and design choices like sunken tubs, this is a great option that is literally across from the Ferry Building. Staying here will give you easy access to some incredible eateries in and around the Ferry Building and close enough to the Bart/Muni to get you around town.Recommended for:

Been staying in this hotel for 4 nights and I must say the rooms are big enough. The shower bathroom is sized normally. The room is quite calm, so sleeping was good (except for the jetlag of course). Wifi is terrible - use the wire. There is a $10 option for faster internet but I didn't try it. Breakfast card is small and they are expensive ($25 -> $30)

What a "wow" location. View of the bay bridge, right on the embarcadero, walking distance to some of the hottest restaurants and bars in downtown San Francisco.
This boutique hotel does a really good job of making you feel like a uniquely special guest.
The rooms are comfortable and most of them have spectacular views of the city.
Bonus: the bar/lounge downstairs has an outside terrace right across the street from the bay, with some of the best views of the bridge in the city. It's really prime space, and always seems to be a hotspot for after-work/pre-dinner cocktails.

Hotel Vitale is a comfortable, modern hotel on the Embarcadero and across the street from the Ferry Building Marketplace. From the roof deck, there is a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge. Americano, the hotel's restaurant, seems popular with the afterwork crowd.

I really enjoyed my stay at the vitale. I was on vacation with my family and I can't say enough about its location on the embarcadero...right across the street from the ferry building and just blocks from union square etc. The restaurant downstairs, americano, was also great and the concierge was really helpful in booking an alcatraz visit for us.
