With an entire menu entitled For Kids by Kids (supervised by none other than Alice Waters of Chez Panisse), the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf is tailor-made for the young sailor set. If you're traveling with an infant, you can order all of your diapers, food, and accessories ahead of time and have them all delivered to your room upon check-in rather than pack them in advance. Plus, the whole family will love the pool, and the concierge will arrange babysitting services should you want a night out.Recommended for:Family Travelers

Okay, I'm giving this place five stars in comparison to all the other chain hotels in SF. They have a pool (!) and jacuzzi (in the middle atrium, so it doesn't get as much of the typical SF arctic wind), washer/dryers on each floor, outlandishly quiet windows (triple pane, perhaps?), iPhone charging stations on the bedside lamps, yoga videos, valet parking (which charges an arm and leg -- $45 -- so ask about the $32 overnight lot 1 1/2 blocks away), etc. Plus, the decor is more crisp and clean vs soulless, and you're like five seconds from Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach.

We had a great stay here during our April 2012 trip. It is so close to everything at the Wharf. We ate the breakfast place across the street that was very good. We also liked that there is a pool here. The front entrance area is a bit awkward though and there are like two doors before you can get inside.

From the get-go, both the customer service and the shine of the lobby impress. Crisp uniforms and smiles, clean and modern decor, and a sunny interior make you forget you're in tacky (yet fun) Fisherman's Wharf.
The rooms are well-appointed, with iHome clocks and lots of plugs for all of those gizmos you probably have that I've never heard of. Beds are soft and the bathrooms are large. And if you manage to get away from these two things, you can play in the large pool, the hot tub or flex your muscles in the on-premises gym. You can also wash your sullied clothes in the washers and dryers, available for guests.
Valet parking is available with the hotel; self-parking is through an agreement with a parking lot nearby.
Yup, this is one of the nicer hotels in the area. Centrally located near tourist attractions, you can easily walk to both Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach.
