The Hyatt Regency Tech Center reminds me of those grand resorts in Cancun, with sweeping staircases, spotless facilities, a huge restaurant, marble everywhere, and painted smiles on staff. It’s the perfect place to go if you want to be anonymous, get good service, a decent meal, and a good night’s rest. The rooms are mid-century mod in style, have thick beds with simple comforters, and big picture windows (that, plus all the standards—WiFi, flat screen TVs, etc.). The indoor pool is clean and bright and apparently often empty of people, since the hotel caters to business travelers (not much ‘marco polo’ being played here). Frankly, the only downside about the place is the location. In the middle of the Tech Center—basically, a no-man’s business land about 15 miles south of downtown Denver. If you’re OK with that or you’ve got work down here, this is a sure bet.Recommended for:

From a small cluster of tech firms, the Denver Tech Center (aka DTC) has grown into a major hub for businesses of all sorts serving the Rocky Mountain region. And if the hotels there once catered exclusively to business travelers, they now have services for families, conventions, trade shows, gala events, and more. The Hyatt Regency is the cream of the hotel crop here; service is excellent, rooms are comfortable and modern, and the hotel’s soaring entryway, elevated passageways, and cast-iron detailing lend it an appealing city-unto-itself feel. The pool, hot tub and fitness area are all under the same glass roof, with plenty of natural light and open year round. Tech Center is a long way from Denver’s downtown and sights, however. If you don’t have a car, ask the hotel about shuttle service to the Belleview light rail station, where you can catch a train all the way to Denver proper.Recommended for:

This was a very nice and upscale hotel in the Tech Center area. I had quite a few problems with my internet connection otherwise this would have been a five-star review. Upon check-in the people are very friendly and they offer a limited range complimentary shuttle to various places in the area. The bar was very relaxed and had pool tables and shuffleboard, which was welcome but rare for me to see in a hotel bar. All-in-all it was a very good experience.
