Wow. Great hotel. The pools are fantastic, especially if you have kids. There are water slides, caves and lots of fountains. The rooms are very nice. The brunch on weekends is spectacular, with great food and an amazing dining room in what feels like a tropical garden. The only trick, as with much of Ka'anapali, is that what is advertised as "beach-front" is more like "ocean-front" - the beach right in front of the hotel has no place for spreading a towel - the water comes right up to the embankment. Ka'anapali beach is only a couple of minutes walk, so not a huge deal, but I would have liked to know this in advance.

Everyone receives a lei upon check-in. Beautiful hotel with Chinese themed grounds with multiple pools, water slides, and caves. Orchids everywhere. Rooms all come with a balcony usually either facing the beach or the golf course.

This hotel is beautiful!
It has a great pool and tons of restaurants and bars for all tastes.
What I really liked was the children's program.
I don't have children but I appreciate resorts that cater to families and give the little ones things to do.
The rooms are huge and well appointed.
The only minus for me is that this stretch of Kaanapali Beach has almost no beach.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel has a free parking area if you follow the signs for “Spa Moana / Guest Self Parking”. Go all the way down that driveway and park in one of the Beach Access spaces. We like the very Hawaiian Macy's shop, with extensive ladies swimwear and mens shirts. Be sure to visit the penguins in the lobby area, and the swans in one of the ponds. The Hyatt is also a nice place to start a walk all the way up Kaanapali Beach and back, on the sidewalk next to the sandy beach. From one end to the other and return is about 10,000 steps!

I stayed here a few years ago when I ran the Maui 1/2 Marathon. Thank god for the hot tub once the run was over! I was very impressed with this resort. The property has wonderful restaurants and the pool here rocks! I think its probably the best pool on the west side if you are into water slides. Its also within walking distance to the world famous Kaanapali Beach, great golfing, and shopping. Next time I need a west side escape, I'd do it here.

Old school property on beautiful Ka'anapali Beach, this rambling resort has a whole lot going for it. There are terrific restaurants and an excellent spa. Book an oceanside massage with Helena and take advantage of the excellent free classes, especially yoga with Karen. Do not miss the stargazing programs, offered nightly. Amazing! This place is very popular with families, which might bum out grownups looking for something quiet and chill. But you can likely find the privacy you crave by heading down to the beach. Would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed here on the second leg of our honeymoon. The hotel is huge! There are three separate towers. Try and stay in the main tower or the north tower I believe. One of the towers looks at the area where they do luau twice a wee and can get loud. The entrance/lobby is nice. It was under construction when we were there. The room are very dated but when you are there you really aren't in the room that much. We had a nice ocean front room that peaked through the palm trees. The resort as a whole is awesome. There is a very large pool that has several different sections (cave/grotto with a bar, waterfall, family play section, water slide and more. Get to the pool early if you expect to get a good spot. The hotel is also within walking distance to the Whaler's Village. The bars and restaurants are nice but expensive which you would expect.Recommended for:Family Travelers
