Hyatt Regency San Francisco

5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111
21 reviews

This is a review of the main space: This Hyatt is HUGE. In the main atrium area there is a big light sculpture hanging down from the ceiling. Check that out. Hotel as a whole is very convenient, being a block from the Ferry Building and in the financial district.

If you're anything like me and wildly excited by hands-on-applications of SCIENCE then you definitely want to check out the Exploratorium. The exhibits are rotated frequently so no trip is the same. The tactile dome is an adventure in the dark (IE the place to go and make-out if you've a partner in crime).

High quality chocolate, a passionate approach to fair trade practices, and a legitimate free tour which includes free chocolate tastings! I managed to show up the day of and secure a spot for one of their tours, rushing over to make it just in time (they do a 10:30 and 2 most days, and you can register online). What I ...

Like most dinner cruises, the evening included taking a cheesy prom pic once we boarded, an open bar, a live band, and a 4 course meal. There was pre-assigned seating, and our table was near the bar, but far from the dance floor and the windows at the end of the ship. The staff was very accommodating and my date ...

    Embarcadero Public Promenade

0.09 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    5 reviews

What a beautiful discovery this is! Face the Ferry Building and head left. At the first set of buildings, enter through the arches and you'll find the most beautiful and peaceful waterfront area, a walking path leading from docked boats to fancy restaurants. It's a beautiful stroll, perhaps one of the most tranquil in San Francisco.

I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time as I did when I got to see Dave Chapelle here! That man is hilariously out of control! After missing him many times in the past, I was finally able to see him at the Punch Line. We arrived at 9pm for the 10pm showing, and there were about 40 people ...

Stop in on your walk along San Francisco's Embarcadero. Everything you do (or don't) need is here, being sold by boutique vendors. Chocolates, olive oil, lard (!), designer ceramic ware, hats, kitchen gear, books, and lots of good food and coffee. And ice cream, and candy, and fruit, and mushrooms. Walk along the bayside for salt breeze and blue water ...

A neighborhood near the tourist's 'ground zero' at Union Square, Chinatown is a place where locals don't tend to go. Not as egregious a crime against authenticity and good taste as Fisherman's Wharf, SF's Chinatown is still full of hokey tourist crap and mediocre Chinese eateries (there are good ones there too, of course, but good luck finding them at ...

Alcatraz is an absolute must see when you come to San Francisco. You MUST book in advance with Alcatraz Cruises, any day of the year, to get a ticket. The boat takes you from the city to the island. We did the self guided tour and found it absolutely fascinating. Plan 3-4 hours.
