Hyatt Regency San Francisco

5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111
21 reviews

This is a review of the main space: This Hyatt is HUGE. In the main atrium area there is a big light sculpture hanging down from the ceiling. Check that out. Hotel as a whole is very convenient, being a block from the Ferry Building and in the financial district.

I came here for Exploratorium After Dark with some coworkers. For $15, this is quite the experience! The space is large and there are quite a few things to check out, interact with, and learn about. It was kind of like a many things to look at! It got pretty crowded around 8pm. There's easy access to Pier 15 ...

This experimental chocolate company, by Wired co-founder Louis Rossetto and cocoa guru Karl Bittong, uses software development as a model, first launching the company by presenting chocolates in beta form and collecting consumer feedback. Their system for classifying tastes is similarly scientific, creating a flavor wheel that explains the different tastes inherent in chocolate (such as fruity, nutty, or citrus) ...

    Embarcadero Public Promenade

0.09 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco

What a beautiful discovery this is! Face the Ferry Building and head left. At the first set of buildings, enter through the arches and you'll find the most beautiful and peaceful waterfront area, a walking path leading from docked boats to fancy restaurants. It's a beautiful stroll, perhaps one of the most tranquil in San Francisco.

I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time as I did when I got to see Dave Chapelle here! That man is hilariously out of control! After missing him many times in the past, I was finally able to see him at the Punch Line. We arrived at 9pm for the 10pm showing, and there were about 40 people ...

    Hidden Vine

0.25 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    4 reviews

The Hidden Vine is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and some light food. It is “hidden” in a small alley in the Financial District, so more likely you won’t just walk upon it by accident. But it doesn’t mean that people don’t know about it – it could get crowded, especially in the early evening ...

A public park in S.F. that's not overrun by homeless/addicts/hipsters? Believe it! This park was a lunchtime respite when I worked in FiDi years ago, and thankfully it hasn't changed. Always brings back great memories when I'm in the neighborhood.

    Yin and Yang Eggheads

0.24 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    1 review

I went to UC Davis, where artist and faculty member Robert Arneson’s Eggheads are found throughout campus, so I was pleasantly surprised to see my old friends along the Embarcadero behind the Vaillancourt Fountain at the edge of Justin Herman Plaza. One Egghead yells while the other cringes at the sound of his inaudible voice. It's kind of like life, ...

We were a little rushed that day and came here with one hour to spare before closing. I really wish I had more time to spend here, it is one of the best MoMA I have ever been. We were welcomed with the calligraphy style drapes hanging in the cylindrical part of the MoMA grants it an antiquated art style. ...

My favorite spot in SF to assemble a picnic. If you are in luck there will be a farmer's market outside. Many wonderful shops to select from. If you have more time you can dine in for lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants. It gets very busy so have a little patience.

Still on my bucket list to ice skate in Union Square but nonetheless it is a great spot for walking, shopping & sightseeing year long. Close to the ferry building and fisherman's wharf, it's a notable/iconic location in San Francisco with views of the water. Perks: great for people watching!

Grace Cathedral is the Episcopalian seat of the bishop of the California. It sits perched atop Nob Hill across from a nice old fashioned park. If you want to see French Gothic in San Francisco do visit. There is now a poorly considered grand staircase along the front, where there used be a very fine limestone building as there were ...

I love this haberdashery. I buy all my hats here — for beach, vintage flair and even my beanie. Just walking through the store is like walking through an homage to timelessness, with a nod to the beautiful past that inspired them. You can buy ready-to-wear hats or get one custom designed and made. And this is the place, if ...

Britex puts pretenders such as JoAnn's and Michael's to shame when it comes to fabric and notions. This well known landmark is the tallest skyscaper in the San Francisco skyline. The Pyramid Center houses two office buildings.
