Hyatt Regency San Francisco

5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111
21 reviews

This is a review of the main space: This Hyatt is HUGE. In the main atrium area there is a big light sculpture hanging down from the ceiling. Check that out. Hotel as a whole is very convenient, being a block from the Ferry Building and in the financial district.

For those who like upscale (i.e. expensive) kitchen stores, this is the mother ship! When I think of Williams-Sonoma, I think of San Francisco. So what if there are branches in malls throughout America? This one is the real thing!

    Goorin Brothers Hat Shop

1612 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA
0.63 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    6 reviews

This is my go-to shop for fancy hats. Prices are reasonable, and their level of quality is so high I can usually tell when someone on the street is wearing a Goorin Brothers hat. I'm not really a hat guy, as I feel most hats fit me oddly, but I love Goorin Brothers because their hats complement my funny face.

    Crocker Galleria

0.7 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    5 reviews

There are two terrific rooftop terraces above Crocker Galleria. They're open to the public during the center's hours, but not well advertised. Go up to the top floor and look for the "rooftop patio" signs - expect benches, flowers, great views, and a lovely escape on sunny days!

Cocktails here are amazing, as they should be at $14 a pop. Typically filled with guests staying at the hotel and on the 40+ side. If you're hungry they have a wagyu hot dog and burger that are to break your diet for.

Nice little lounge with an outdoor patio. It wasn't too packed for happy hour on a Friday night. We grabbed a seat inside since the outdoor patio was full. The service is a little slow. The drinks are good and so are the garlic as herb fries!

I've been talking nonstop about Rouge et Blanc. Prices are reasonable, wine is served in separate glasses (so you can pour it as you prefer into your glass), they serve food and they have excellent taste in music. The space is comfortable and large, and the service here is very friendly. I'll be back soon!

    Suchada Traditional Thai Massage

38 Bryant Street, San Francisco, CA, United States
0.93 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    3 reviews

Thai massage is something like a combination deep-tissue and manipulation session, with your masseuse using elbows and fists, and bending you into a pretzel, to work out deep knots in your muscles. It borders on exquisitely painful at times, but the sense of looseness and relaxation when the session is done are amazing. That said, if you're looking to experience ...

Inside: red bar stools, some of them cracked; an homage to the Buddha in the corner of an L-shaped bar; booths and a separate room hidden from the view of the foyer; Oriental liquors in small bottles with wooden tops, covered in writing I can’t read; and a flat screen TV. The bartender says the house drink is a Mai ...

Dell'uva is one of my favorite neighborhood establishments. Their outdoor seating is always great, and they have plenty of heaters available for the colder days. Their menu is surprisingly delicious, and best of all, everything is really affordable. They always have several bottles for less than $25, which is a real rarity in the city. Their pizzas are great for ...

    John Colins

138 Minna St, San Francisco, CA
0.81 mi from Hyatt Regency San Francisco
    5 reviews

John Colins is a solid lounge in the downtown area. They recently moved into a larger space that offers more room but seems less pretty than the previous. While drink prices aren't particularly cheap, they often have fairly good specials. The bartenders are quite friendly and quick to get a drink in your hand even when the place is crowded.

Established in 2008. 1/6/09: table hopper. The place has a turn-of-the-century traveler look, with unique wallpaper (the floral pattern actually features demons), exotic light fixtures, a copper bar, and an ever-growing collection of Victorian artwork, like pinned butterflies.

While Grace Cathedral is still the grandest church in San Francisco, there's something magical about stepping into a Catholic institution. It's like stepping back in time into the Renaissance. Walking through Saints Peter and Paul Church is such an experience. If they're open, do step inside.

Cool bar in the Rex Hotel with a beautiful interior much like a library. Wines start at $7 and are heavy pours (not bad for a hotel bar). Cocktails are more pricey. Buffalo Trace or Bulleit for $8 (a measuring stick for all you whiskey lovers).
