I picked this place because it was centrally located to most of the events for Canada Day celebration in Vancouver. I had arrived on the check in time that was told for me to check in at, and I was told that the room I had reserved was not available. I had to wait an hour and half for it. That was not an issue as all I did was read. They comped me free internet in my room for this.
I used to free internet anyways, which is why I found this weird that I was getting it free for their mistake.
The elevator system here is unique and can be confusing to those who dont get technology well.
Overall this place is average. Kind of pricey for the service you get. I would have rather stayed at a smaller hotel for less money and get the same service or better.

Other than the price being on the high side, it's hard to find fault with the Hyatt. First, the location is unbeatable regardless if you're in town for work or pleasure - you step outside and there's Starbucks, shopping, great restaurants, and the Burrard Skytrain station right there.
The rooms are very modern with a cool grey color palate and modern amenities like an iPod dock and flat screen TV mounted to the wall, and a coffee maker. All of the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, but only some have balconies, so it's worth requesting one when you check in.
The Hyatt also gets full marks for its facilities - a huge fitness center, pool, meeting rooms, and a couple restaurants to choose from, including "Grain" which has a great beer selection and gastro-pub cuisine.
I also love that the Hyatt offers online check-in and check-out and that you can tweet their concierge for information. It's so much easier than having to go to the lobby and ask in person! I wonder why more hotels don't offer this?Recommended for:
