It wasn't until several years after moving to San Francisco that I discovered the elegant beauty of Hyde Street at night. This beauty is enhanced even more with a ride on the Cable Car.
Hyde Street, with its fancy restaurants and shops along a quiet street, becomes illuminated with tiny lights at night. The area is relatively peaceful and quiet, save for the hum of cable lines. Riding through is definitely a lovely experience.Recommended for:Family Travelers

When in San Francisco for the first time you do need to at least take a Cable Car they are a must for a visit to San Francisco. That said they get crowded and if you do not like hanging on the outside it may take awhile to get a seat. When visiting I usually do not take this type of transportation. Every few visits we will jump on one just for the experience and feel. It is truly San Francisco
