The Ibis Hotel next to Amsterdam Central Station is practical and unassuming. The location is perfect for those who want to explore the city and beyond – catching a train to any part of Holland and/or Europe is just a matter of walking next door. Housed in a tall modern building, all the rooms in the hotel come with a view - it’s really just a matter of choosing between train tracks or city towers. The services in the hotel are really basic, but they do offer free wireless connection for all visitors. Also, there are three disability rooms available, with either twin beds or a double. Plus, the whole place is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and wide doors. Although the restaurant does not offer a specialized menu, it is open throughout most of the day. Otherwise, the hotel has a selection of drinks and snacks by the entrance that can be purchased any time.

Íbis seems to be always the same, doesn't it? Not for those who decide to stay close to the Train Station. Ok: the room is small and it looks like the other Íbis rooms that I have been during my life as traveller. But I need to tell some differences I've found on this one. First of all is the breakfast time ends almost at lunch time which allows you to stay in bed a bit longer. And the variety of food is amazing. After breakfast you are close to the most important tourist spots or, at least, close to the transport that will take you there. The view from some of the rooms are very nice. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The rates are quite good. Am I exagerating? Maybe. But try this Íbis and you might tell me how did you feel while staying in a clean room at the wonderful Amsterdam.

Their are 5 Ibis Hotels in Amsterdam, but this one has perhaps the ideal location. It is connected to the main train station (Stationsplein) and right on the water. From here, you can catch a train to virtually anywhere in Netherlands or Europe for that matter. Next to the train lines are the local street cars, so you can catch one to other parts of the city, like toward the large Exhibition center if you are here on business.
The hotel itself is not a luxury hotel, it is more of a moderate, European style hotel, popular with tourists and business people. It has adequate, but by no means spacious rooms, and the train noise could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. It has a breakfast plan, and the rooms have mini-flat screen TV, where this being Amsterdam, you don't have to worry about Selectavision showing up on your bill, just turn on the TV.
It is also just a couple blocks walk up the main street to the heart of the city, and a few blocks more to the right if you want the Famous Amsterdam Cafes, or Red Light District.
Dining options at Ibis Amsterdam Centre include a restaurant and a bar/lounge. This 3.0 star property offers audio visual equipment and business services. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Additional property amenities include an elevator (lift). A total renovation of this property was completed in 2008.
There are 363 guestrooms at Ibis Amsterdam Centre. Bathrooms feature showers. Wireless Internet access is available for a surcharge; guestrooms also offer in room safes. Televisions are available in guestrooms. Rooms also include air conditioning. Guests may request wake up calls. Cribs (infant beds) are available on request. Guestrooms are all non smoking.
