W o w.
W o w.
We waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches to be ready because there were quite a few people there and one of their ovens was broken.
Ordered the Paradise Found (Ham, Pineapple, Marinara, Provolone) $7 and my bf ordered the Phil'er Up's KC BBQ (Hot Roast Beef, BBQ, Cheddar) $7 both on sourdough bread.
We took the sandwiches back to our car, popped the trunk and sat in the back tailgate style under the shade as there were no tables left in front of the place.
The bread was perfection. The ham was sweet and abundant, the provolone all melty, and the pineapple and marinara went SO WELL together. AHHHHHH I WANT MORE.
I didnt even steal a bite off my bf's sandwich as I was very content with mine. He polished off his in a jiff and he's picky so it must've been good!
I need an Ike's down here in the OC :(
Each sandwich also came with a tootsie pop too, which I thought was cute.

First stumbled across Ike's from their Stanford location. I was very happy to find that they had another store in the San Francisco area. They make huge, delicious and unique sandwiches. The paul Ruben and Matt Kain are my favorites!

In the heart of Castro, you best believe SIZE MATTERS. And Ike's got 'em big enough for grown men to share.
PS You can call in your order for faster service!

The sandwiches at Ike's are legendary. While they may not be for the ultra health-conscious, everyone should make a trip here at least once. Feeling blue? Get some mozzarella sticks added to that already massive sandwich.

Yummy sandwiches but a little overpriced. Can't go wrong with any sandwich you order. I ended up getting the Damon Bruce. They have sandwiches named after some of the SF Giants, Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum. They don't have any tables so be prepared to eat outside or while you're seated by the window.

A very San Franciscan cheap eats spot, the Castro District institution usually sports a line out the door. You can upgrade from the 'Captain Kirk' (vegan breaded chicken, avocado, pepper jack, sweet orange glaze) to the 'We're JUST friends' simply by swapping in halal chicken instead.

I was wondering what all the hype was about this place. My roommate told me I had to go the next time I was in SF and she was right! I ordered the Spiffy Tiffy
Avocado, Halal Chicken, Mushrooms, Pepper Jack, Pesto, Provolone soo good and enough food for me for lunch and dinner! Must stop if you are in the city

This place is tiny and omg amazing. The people who work there are awesomely friendly (I got a high five for spelling my name the same way the girl taking orders did). I got the Napoleon Complex (vegetarian). The raspberry poppyseed French dressing was so awesome, as was the Havarti cheese. We took ours and ate in Dolores Park and watched people with their dogs. Great sandwich experience!Recommended for:Vegetarian
