Yummy sandwiches but a little overpriced. Can't go wrong with any sandwich you order. I ended up getting the Damon Bruce. They have sandwiches named after some of the SF Giants, Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum. They don't have any tables so be prepared to eat outside or while you're seated by the window.Recommended for:

I stumbled upon this place when I was exploring SF. There was a line and I was wondering what the heck this place was. It looked like a hole in the wall place since there was no seating inside.
I ordered a manage a trois. Overall the sandwich was decent. I loved the bread. It has some crunchy sweetness to it which I find interesting. Chips were alright. It's a bit pricy for a sandwich. The wait is kinda of long.Recommended for:

A very San Franciscan cheap eats spot, the Castro District institution usually sports a line out the door. You can upgrade from the 'Captain Kirk' (vegan breaded chicken, avocado, pepper jack, sweet orange glaze) to the 'We're JUST friends' simply by swapping in halal chicken instead.Recommended for:

We waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches to be ready because there were quite a few people there and one of their ovens was broken.
Ordered the Paradise Found (Ham, Pineapple, Marinara, Provolone) $7 and my bf ordered the Phil'er Up's KC BBQ (Hot Roast Beef, BBQ, Cheddar) $7 both on sourdough bread.
We took the sandwiches back to our car, popped the trunk and sat in the back tailgate style under the shade as there were no tables left in front of the place.
The bread was perfection. The ham was sweet and abundant, the provolone all melty, and the pineapple and marinara went SO WELL together. AHHHHHH I WANT MORE.
I didnt even steal a bite off my bf's sandwich as I was very content with mine. He polished off his in a jiff and he's picky so it must've been good!
I need an Ike's down here in the OC :(
Each sandwich also came with a tootsie pop too, which I thought was cute.Recommended for:

Get the Kryptonite. Yes, it's huge and probably is over 4000 calories for a whole sandwich but if you go to Ike's and not get the Kryptonite, you'll be missing out on the whole experience. The Kryptonite has ham, salami, turkey, roast beef, corned beef, cheese, fried mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, pesto, avocado, and some veggies. The whole sandwich is $20. I split it with a friend and ate my half for the next 3 meals.
There is a long line at Ike's so go early. You can't really eat your sandwiches there since there's no space but a good option is to walk 2 blocks over to Dolores Park and enjoy your sandwich there.
They have a lot of different sandwich options to choose from. One of my friends had the Lex Luther and that was really good. It's really meaty and heavy though. I enjoyed my Kryptonite a lot more. It's huge but not overwhelming. Everything balanced out well and the pesto and avocado really helped give a lot of flavor.
Your sandwich comes with a bag of chips even though you won't have any room for it in your stomach. I recommend the red hot kettle chips they have. It's in a white and red bag.Recommended for:

This place is tiny and omg amazing. The people who work there are awesomely friendly (I got a high five for spelling my name the same way the girl taking orders did). I got the Napoleon Complex (vegetarian). The raspberry poppyseed French dressing was so awesome, as was the Havarti cheese. We took ours and ate in Dolores Park and watched people with their dogs. Great sandwich experience!Recommended for:

First stumbled across Ike's from their Stanford location. I was very happy to find that they had another store in the San Francisco area. They make huge, delicious and unique sandwiches. The paul Ruben and Matt Kain are my favorites!Recommended for:

If you're looking for some delicious sandwiches, then stop by Ike's Lair. They make some pretty damn good sandwiches, named after sports stars (The Steve Nash, The Brandi Chastain, The Kerri Walsh, The Alex Smith, etc.) and others, with creative names, such as the [The Girl I'm Dating], The Backstabber, The Steve Jobs, The Kryponite, The Menage A Trois, The Captain Kirk, etc.
We had the Spiffy Tiffy: Avocado, Halal Chicken, Mushrooms, Pepper Jack, Pesto, Provolone (we had it on gluten-free bread). Delicious! Pesto-ey!!! and very very GREEN!
Really cool sandwich joint, located near Santa Clara University. If you're into creative sandwiches, give Ike's Lair a whirl. Ask for the red onions!

The sandwiches at Ike's are legendary. While they may not be for the ultra health-conscious, everyone should make a trip here at least once. Feeling blue? Get some mozzarella sticks added to that already massive sandwich.Recommended for:

What more can I say that hasn't already been said. EXCELLENT Sandwiches!!! I tried the Lincecum which comes with ham, turkey, bacon, avocado, and havarti. It was delicious! Definitely lived up to the hype. I will definitely be back to try another sandwich!

Yes, the line is big, and so what? Use the time you are waiting in line to check your email, to 'draw something', to tweet, to read or maybe just enjoy the time to talk to your husband/friend/whoever is with you. In case you are alone and have nobody to talk to, check out people around you, everybody here is pretty stylish, you may even end up meeting someone interesting.
So ok, now that we are done with the line drama - and also because I know that once you give the first bite on your sandwich you will forget the line - let's talk about the sandwich... which is awesome.
They have some sweet combinations and all the sandwiches names are super creative. I tried the menage a trois one and loved - the real honey + honey mustard + bbq sauce combination is killer. And the bread, their own bread, is super good.
To complete your experience get your sandwich and walk to Dolores Park to eat there, and make sure to keep going back to try all the options.

Discovered this place watching Man x Food and it was a pleasant surprise. Their sandwiches are really good and also big. Each sandwich is unique with very creative names and their combination of ingredients gives their sandwich a super orignal flavor. The only downside is that the line is always huge.

Super BUSY super YUMMY! So grab n Go, but its soooo goood! The Dirty Sauce IS to DIE FOR, and the bread is what you go for, put it together, and the fillers are just your to chose from really!
Great sandwich spot...The sandwich's here and no typical sandwich... do not get confused by the "look" of them... they or no orndinary bite. They are as some would say "unexplainably" amazing!
