    The Westin Michigan Avenue

    The Westin Michigan Avenue

    Class:
    8 reviews
Good! - 77% of guests recommend

This was my very first exposure to the Westin chain of hotels, and the beds had me sold! I remembered just being absorbed by all the fluffy pillows and comforter. It was like being hugged by the entire bed. :) The location is great - right across from the John Hancock Center, so perfect for shopping along Michigan Ave.

    InterContinental Chicago O'Hare

    Class:

Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

I was pleasantly surprised for an airport hotel. The hotel room was large, modern, had kuerig coffee, robe and slippers. I love those extras ...and half the price of the Hilton. Bathroom was real modern with recessed areas and wood bench instead of a vanity. Tons of space and super clean. Food was catered as part of an event but ...

    Chicago's Essex Inn

    Chicago's Essex Inn

    Class:
    5 reviews
Good! - 76% of guests recommend

Tucked away from downtown in the South Loop ‘hood, the Essex Inn is a gem of a hotel that likely gets passed by often for hotels found closer to the Loop and River North. It’s not the newest hotel, and it isn’t the most luxurious, but it has plenty of style and bonus points. The lobby has contemporary art and ...

    Chicago Getaway Hostel

This hostel is big on creating community. There are a ton of communal areas: kitchen, TV room, back patio, pool table, meeting room, plus bulletin boards full of info about what to do and where to go for a good time in the neighborhood. They also have bikes, guitars, and computers for guests to use or rent. The staff is ...

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile

    Class:
    7 reviews
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

This is a good Convention hotel choice when I'm in Chicago. It's just a short a walk to Michigan Avenue, good restaurants, the "L", and almost anywhere else, except the Convention Center (McCormick Place) itself. For that a longish bus ride to South Side Siberia is required. In many ways, this is a classic Courtyard by Marriott property and remains ...

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel)

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel)

    Class:
    6 reviews
Excellent! - 91% of guests recommend

I would actually recommend staying at the Four Seasons across Michigan over here. While the rooms were clean with a great view, my sisters & I went for a spa weekend and were hugely disappointed in the spa. In addition, because it is attached to Water Tower Place it is really swarming with tourists and curious shoppers!

    Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport

    Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport

    Class:
    8 reviews
Good! - 79% of guests recommend

Got stuck at O'Hare airport for 36 hours so I walked over to this hotel and got a room for the night. It's generally a nice hotel as most elite Hilton's are, but the reason this one gets 2 stars is because they know they're dealing with people who have to stay here and they nickel and dime you at ...

    The Whitehall Hotel

    The Whitehall Hotel

    Class:
    6 reviews
Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

Located steps from the Gold Coast on the Near North Side, the Whitehall Hotel has style to spare. Though I definitely felt a European vibe here, the hotel also offers a Chinese restaurant (Mei’s Corner) in addition to its Italian eatery (Forentto Mei). Elegant touches can be found throughout, and the slate-hued rooms don’t feel dated at all. A nice ...

SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North

SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North

    5 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

I really loved the fresh feel of this hotel, particularly the bright turquoise, green and magenta furniture and decor throughout the lobby and the rooms. It kept it feeling hip and modern, especially in comparison to the more classic feel of the adjoining Residence Inn. A floor-to-ceiling, open-backed desk separated the small living space from the bedroom area and bathroom, ...

bed is comfortable. i LOVED the double showerheads - probably one of the most therapeutic showers i've taken with strong water pressure. the bathroom is extremely spacious and even had a little rolling stool to pull up to a vanity station. the free breakfast on each floor by the elevators meant i could grab some juice and a bagel and ...

Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown

Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown

    Class:
    6 reviews
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

This is a nice, low-key hotel. The staff touts its homey, comfortable feel, and I think they're right to do so. The suites aren't huge, but they're plenty big enough for relaxing between meetings or tourist excursions. One of the things I like best about this hotel is the grocery service (which makes the full kitchen an asset). The also ...

    Dewitt Place

    6 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

I didn't like the vibe at the Dewitt Place. The studio apartment was small and looked clean enough, but had a weird smell that really turned me off. I did like the wood floors and the windows, which made the rooms feel bright and airy. On the upside, it's in a really good location, super close to attractions like the ...

I might come to the JW just for the huge tubs! Located in downtown Chicago, this hotel is just steps from Millenium Park. Clean rooms and courteous staff make this a nice, yet economical experience for downtown lodging. Check out the executive lounge if you have some work to catch up on.

Hampton Inn and Suites Chicago - Downtown

    Class:

I honestly expected a pretty conservative décor before stepping into this hotel, but Hampton Inn & Suites surprised me with a boldly designed lobby that popped with blacks and yellows, and a two-story tall portrait of white flowers. It’s honestly a very memorable lobby. Hampton Inn also has a nice dining area where you can grab breakfast, a quiet little ...

These rooms are designed for extended stay, not that they’re not worth it for a great weekend. They’re more like very nice studio apartments than hotel rooms. The kitchens are fully stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, etc. If you spring for the one bedroom, you’re basically paying for a door to the bedroom, which in some cases might be very ...
