    Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

    52 reviews

If you come to Chicago you HAVE to eat some Lou Malnati's. The sauce is excellent. Bring your appetite. Deep Dish Only in my opinion. They also have carry out and ordering online to have a dry ice frozen pizza shipped to you, at a pretty penny.

    Giordano's Pizzeria on Rush

    37 reviews

The concierge at the Drake directed us here for good Chicago pizza. This was the first authentic Chicago pizza we tasted on our vacation and we were not disappointed. It's thick deep dish style. We ordered personal size pizzas and a garlic bread appetizer although the pizza would've been enough. We left the restaurant absolutely stuffed.

    Pizzeria Uno

    35 reviews

One of Chicago's more famous pizzeria's and one of the oldest places to serve deep dish style pizzas. While it has plenty of history, the quality of pizza here doesn't compare to Lou Malnati's or Giordano's

A classic chicago deep dish joint. Not sure if the new one has the writing on the walls like the old one though.

    Avec Restaurant & Wine Bar

    11 reviews

This small restaurant has been consistently delicious since its inception. There are no reservations, so be prepared to wait during peak times for a spot among the long communal tables. My favorite dish in Chicago is served here: Chorizo-stuffed bacon-wrapped dates in a romesco sauce.

Tapas in the heart of downtown. I'd suggest going with a group of people. This isn't my favorite tapas restaurant in the city, but it's a good place to meet with friends and eat before a night out at one of the nearby bars. The pasta dishes weren't very good, but the polenta fries are top notch.

Something different among the many pizza places Chicago has. It's New Haven style pizza, and it's good.

Wonderful! I've wanted to visit this place since I saw it on "Check Please!" Well, it was my birthday and I wanted to celebrate! :) We arrived here on a Friday night at about 6:30ish. We had a reservation, and were seated immediately. The place was not very crowded, but it slowly filled up as we were there. Their wine ...

You've seen this chef cook on cable TV before, right? Tony Mantuano is a James Beard Award winner and this is his showcase dining room in Chicago. Come for elegantly prepared northern Italian cuisine - make reservations well in advance.

Nice solid steakhouse. The food is good but a bit too touristy and rushed to really be enjoyable. A reservation is essential.

    Piccolo Sogno

    5 reviews

I dated a guy that took me here a few times and that might be part of the reason I kept dating him. The food and service are top notch and though it's not cheap, it's not quite as high as some of Chicago's other stellar restaurants. Everything on the menu is amazeballs. If you can score a table on ...

    Modern Wing at Art Institute

    4 reviews

I'm not a particular fan of modern art, but the exhibitions in the Art Institute are okay. There's not much to help you make sense of them or to put them into context, though.
