    Palace of the Winds

    25 reviews

First of all, I was really impressed by the massive façade of the Hawa Mahal. It looks grand and at first I thought it was some kind of palace or fort. But when actually entered it, I found out that its not much of a palace as such. Hawa Mahal was built for the royal ladies – kins and family ...

    Cherakara Tea Plantation

    4 reviews

British built tea plantation left largely undiscovered. Very kind to us on the day we visited with a full tour of the working factory and explanation of the tea making process. Others we spoke to weren't so lucky, but were able to have a walk through the rows of green, growing tea at least.

Go early, dont mind the lines and enjoy both the outside as well as the breath taking interior. Quite a sight architecturally. Looks a bit like the Sydney Opera House. Very popular with visitors and locals alike. Worth the visit.

    Gateway of India

    43 reviews

Doesn't take long to see this but it is iconic. It is also the place to catch the boat to Elephanta (weather permitting). A good picture spot and conveniently located to the Taj Palace which is well worth a visit in its own right.

    Marine Drive

    34 reviews

Very romantic pedestrian boulevard. Morning, noon and night couples gaze arm and arm into the Sea and Taxi drivers take breaks from honking to chat and absorb the sea air. Calming and majestic landmark. Best viewed from a rooftop to gain perspective but also an amazing walk.

    Connaught Place

    31 reviews

Technically Delhi's downtown, this is really more of a transport hub. It used to be a major shopping area although the many malls that have sprouted up in town and in Gurgaon over the past decade have taken away some of its business. Two cinemas.

    The Backwaters

I have mixed feelings about Kochi, Kerala. I've been once before for a good friend's wedding and had an amazing time, but that was due largely to the wedding itself and the many friends who were there with me. Having been back for a second visit, I think Kerala is a nice area for those who want to experience good ...
