I've been finding it quite difficult to review this hotel for some time, as normally I tend to only write short comments, however I feel the need to make an exception on this occasion.
Notwithstanding that, here is a short summary.
Was this one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at? YES
Was this boutique hotel innovative? YES
Did the hotel leave any stone unturned? NO
Was it good value? YES
Would I go back again? ABSOLUTELY YES!
So here we go then. Firstly on arrival we were greeted with a cocktail. On first impressions, the rooms look like barracks from the outside and probably won't appeal to the non-adventurous.
Secondly the all important 'ice bucket' test. The time taken from placing the room service order to delivery was approximately 1 minute. My bucket of ice was delivered by a very nice lady on a bicycle. Now, that IS service.
The room itself is spacious and is a designers dream. The shower area is spacious and there is a place to hide all your suitcases away from view during your stay. There are plenty of drawers and hanging space, the room has a regular sized safe and there is a radio/30 pin iPod dock in the bedroom.
There are also lots of plug/power points in the room and also supplied are international adapters. The room has a kettle and small fridge.
Our room had a plunge pool, an outdoor bath and a shaded area to relax in.
A short walk through the well kept grounds, takes you past the security gates and friendly guard and onto the beach where there is plenty of seating. The beach itself is actually outside the property and there are two access points, one of which closes around 7pm.
Lunch is available at the beach or you have the option to visit any of the reasonably priced restaurants along this stretch of sand.
For those who prefer to stay in the resort, there are two adult swimming pools, one of which is an infinity pool overlooking the gardens. The other has a jacuzzi and bar. There is a cafe restaurant by the kids pool and lunch service in also available at grown up pools
The reception has a helpful concierge and the stockroom (gift shop) has lots of goodies which are well worth buying and taking home as a reminder of your stay.
I have separately reviewed the Tin Mine, Black Ginger and Rivet Bar restaurants.
To summarize, a fabulous designer hotel, it's interesting, innovative, there is amazing attention to detail and the whole resort seems to have been designed by somebody who actually stays in hotels themselves.
Oh, I forgot to mention that there is free wifi and the hotel is only 10 minutes drive from the airport! (HKT)

Where history meets Thai warmth and luxury. The Indigo Pearl is located at the magnificent beach of Nai Harn. Another breathtaking location.
The history plays a huge part of the design of the hotel and definitely has a unique style. After seeing all the crazy design work, the hotel is a great place for some R+R. One problem I had was the service of the staff, which was not up to five star Thai style standards.
The restaurant provides you with a unique experience. One of the better hotel restaurants I’ve been to, with the choice of rare malts, exotic cocktails and international wine. Enjoy all this while floating on the lagoon, surrounded by absolute beauty.
The Coqoon Spa redefines the ultimate spa experience. These tree house, coqoon like rooms are of a new cutting edge design and is the best spa facility I have seen in Phuket so far. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are very spacious as well as keeping with the hotels design. You have various rooms to choose from with each room being unique.

I must admit that the hotel design is quite unique - but it's just too funky for me (I prefer the traditionally decorated or zen looking hotel). One thing i like about this hotel is that it has access to the beach - less crowded than any other beaches in Phuket.

Wow! I have seen quite a few exquisite hotels in Phuket but this one definitely stood out the most. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it at all! All the hotels on the Island have got the whole island-theme going on and it works very well, but this was the first time that I’ve seen a hotel trying something completely different, and I must say they succeeded tenfold!
This is the first hotel that I’ve ever been to with such rich history and an interesting and entertaining concept. This Thai owned Hotel is the legacy of the Na-Ranong family who used to be tin-miners in the early 20th century. That is why the whole hotel has got a tin-mine/industrial feel to it and it is amazing.
Every aspect of the hotel is designed and hand crafted to fit the theme. The décor is unbelievable and there are beautiful antique tin mining machinery- converted into furniture, scattered everywhere.
The hotel boasts with 3 swimming pools a fully equipped gym offering Muay Thai and yoga, a Spa, 3 Restaurants, 2 Bars and has access to the beach.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with the tin mining theme influencing almost every aspect in the rooms. The bathrooms are big and have a very industrialized yet elegant feel to it. All the rooms also include all the amenities one would expect from a luxuary resort.
The coolest part of the Spa is the Cocoon nest tree house spa room. It looks like a huge weaved basket in a tree and offers an array of Spa treatments.
I am really impressed by this hotel!Recommended for:History Buffs
