This classic beach INN provides a comfortable stay on the ideal location in Venice Beach. The room is functional, clean and comfortable. Parking, internet and the nice breakfast are all complimentary. The beach, shops and a variety of restaurants are within a 3mins walk. The reception team is really friendly.

Although originally built as a hotel, I mistook this Inn for a condo complex by its drab grey stucco walls. But then you reach the vibrant mosaic mermaid mural at the front and the interior opens up to an interesting world. The dark wood and black and white patterned tile floor of the lobby surprised me, as well as the wild and colorful carpeting in the guest halls. Rooms are decorated popular 60s mod with bold orange accents and photo collages of local sites. All rooms have small private balconies, except the three that open out on to the charming, French-café-type courtyard which provides outdoor seating for the adjacent breakfast room. Rooms range from single queens to loft suites. The hotel is centrally located (right near the Venice Canals) with self-parking available for a reasonable $7/night, so it’s ideal to head out on foot to enjoy the beach and culture.

I love the artistic, boutique theme of this unassuming little hotel. They’ve done some great things with the rooms and the overall presentation of the hotel. I particularly like the outdoor courtyard, where you can enjoy the complimentary breakfast. It’s very quaint and European in style, with its fountain and lampposts. There’s an indoor area as well, which is more like country kitchen, but if the weather is good, definitely eat outside.
I like that the rooms feel more like an apartment and less like a sterile environment. The orange and grey color tones make it stand out from other hotels. And the black and white artwork gives it a sense of place. My favorite rooms, by far, are the bi-level lofts suites. WiFi is free and parking is only $7 per night. There’s no restaurant or bar here, but there are plenty nearby, and it’s walking distance to the beach.
