The Intercontinental Buckhead has a casual elegance that fits its Buckhead address perfectly. Sure you’ve got the Georgia marble floors, green initiatives aplenty (they were a founding hotel in the Global Soap Initiative), 24-hour concierge and room service helmed by one of two French chefs in the city—along with unforgettable amenities like the peaceful garden on top of their parking garage where guests may enjoy cornhole or bocce ball, a Southern chartecurie in it’s restaurant, Southern Art (think classy, modern Southern comfort food) and a bar with a world-renowned selection of bourbon (some that can only be found at the Intercontinental Buckhead). I adored the rooms—stellar views from almost every angle, oversized flat screen TVs, beautiful bed linens, and bathrooms of legendary proportions. Their organic spa and resort-style hotel pool are in excellent condition and will leave you feeling refreshed whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. However, what really impressed me at the Intercontinental was the genuine concern of the staff for the well being of their guests. I watched the front desk patiently and respectfully address guest concerns while the bellman worked with another guest on booking a last-minute flight out of the city. It’s easily one of the best hotel options in Buckhead.Recommended for:

I recently stopped by the Intercontinental on a Sunday afternoon. It's one of the premiere hotels along a stretch of Peachtree Road, which is home to several high end hotel chains.
The interior design inside the hotel is pretty spectacular -- high ceilings, marble floors, gorgeous floral arrangements in just about every hallway and ornate conference rooms for just about any size convention.
The Intercontinental is an all-purpose hotel as it has dozens of conference rooms, outdoor patio seating, a gift shop and an in-house restaurant. The staff here are incredibly helpful and you really get a sense of Buckhead luxury inside the hotel.
This is a great place for business travelers or large family groups -- anyone looking for a lowkey stay might be slightly put off by all of the hustle and bustle that tends to be the norm at these larger hotels.Recommended for:

Oh, how I love this hotel! From the moment you walk in, you feel warm and welcomed by the staff and the decor. The large lobby with butter yellow walls, high backed chairs (some leather and some upholstered) and a beautiful marble floor usher you into a blend of modern and traditional Southern which is gorgeous! The InterContinental is in a great location - just down the street from MARTA and in the heart of Buckhead; surrounded by excellent shopping, dining and entertainment. But if, for some reason, you don't want to leave the hotel, there are plenty of options between Southern Art Restaurant (opened by Art Smith, as in - Oprah's private chef), The Ham Bar off the lobby (which is literally a bar of assorted pork products) and the Bourbon Bar with 75 different kinds of bourbon.
Each guest room is 400 square feet with lovely carpet, soft sheets, 2 robes, an iPod dock, a minibar and complimentary coffee. The bedding is absolutely gorgeous in a palette of orange and grey that made me want to turn the lights down, climb into that soft bed and stay all day! The bathroom has a marble floor, a large walk in shower and a deep soak tub which I didn't want to get out of for any reason!
There is a spa in the hotel which features Jurlique products. The fitness room is spacious and clean with great lighting, state of the art machines with built in Internet browsers, fresh fruit, complimentary ice water and a fresh scent that just isn't the norm in hotel gyms! This is a fitness center that I would actually visit regularly if I were on an extended stay. There is also an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi which was closed for renovation during my visit but given the rest of the hotel, I'm sure that it is stunning.
The InterContinental tries to cater to local tastes and interests so there are many charming details that are specific to the Georgia location. All of the art in the hotel is by local artists and to get a sense of our beautiful weather, there is an absolutely beautiful outdoor green space with garden seats and a fountain.
If I could, I would live at the InterContinental permanently but since I already have a home in Atlanta I guess I'll have to settle for putting up all of my visiting family members and visiting myself as often as possible!

The InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta redefines the hotel experience in Buckhead. This area of Atlanta is known for excellent shopping, indulgences of any kind imaginable, and luxury! What I love about the InterContinental is that no matter what your design esthetic there is something for you in this location. Southern Art, the restaurant of Art Smith, and Bourbon Bar greet travelers at the entrance of the hotel. Smith is the former personal chef to Oprah Winfrey. The placement of both of these treasures at the front of the hotel sets the standard high, but expectations are maintained throughout the property. Rooms are comfortable and transitional in design with great bathrooms. I visited the Royal Suite which had the most amazing bathroom including a television in the mirror. InterContinental seeks to cater to and compliment the local area. It is easy to feel like a Georgia peach when staying at this hotel.Recommended for:

This is above and beyond your usual conference hotel. Lots of informal meeting space in and near lobbies, a nice thing to have at a conference hotel.
Very attentive and friendly staff. Well-appointed rooms. Secure garage--recommend self-parking as the garage is under the building and you don't really gain anything from valet parking.
Great location in Buckhead, walk or short cab ride to many restaurants.
Dining options at InterContinental Buckhead include a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Room service is available. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool, a spa tub, and a fitness facility. There is a full service health spa on site. This 4.5
