The hotel is slightly older but well-maintained. The views are amazing and depending on the floor that you're on you can see an up close skyline of Chicago. I love that you walk out of the door and you're in the center of the city. And the junior size Olympic swimming pool is to die for!

Perfect location to everything. Minutes from Navy Pier, CTA, Millennium Park, and more. We got upgraded because it was my birthday and anniversary. Rooms were really small and not the best decor. It was cheap and we were never in the room. Lobby was really nice.

A beautiful hotel perfectly situated on Magnificent Mile, allowing you easy access to the Art Institute, shopping and Navy Pier. Also, it is in a way, a piece of art itself. It was built in the 20's as an athletic club but closed it's doors after the Great Depression. When it was reopened as this hotel, they preserved all the details and elegant touches from the 20's. A beautiful hotel with impeccable service.

This is definitely one of my favorite hotels in Chicago. Lobby is beautiful and the staff will do everything they can to help. I had to leave the car out front on Michigan Avenue for an hour to wait for a friend, and they were accommodating. Also, there is a Starbucks adjacent to the lobby which was extremely convenient for me, and after you get your morning coffee you can take it right out the front door onto Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. The fitness center is three floors, and features a big pool with architectural design that I have never seen before. There are wrought iron light fixtures and a big terra cotta fountain. The walls are decorated with Spanish Majolica tiles and fish scale glass windows. Also, in the 1930’s “Tarzan” or Johnny Weissmuller got his start training for the Olympics in this pool. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the suite had a nice Jacuzzi tub. This is a fabulous hotel, and one of Chicago’s great landmarks.

I got to experience two of the InterContinental's most remarkable features back to back: the stunningly ornate junior Olympic sized pool and service so fast and accommodating that a security guard brought me a new key as I stood with wet hair by my door for less than 5 minutes. When you push the "Need anything?" button on the phones distributed throughout the hotel (even in the pool locker room!) they take the calls very seriously. Someone brought a toothbrush to my room faster than I could walk in the bathroom and notice they provide dental care kits (along with shaving kits) to all guests, not just the forgetful ones. The room was inviting and plush, too, with iconic Chitown views from the "historic tower" portion of the hotel including the Wrigley building. I tried the wine, cheese and chocolate bar Eno and once again, the service stood out. The "bartender" sommelier was extremely knowledgeable about wine without coming off as snooty, and when I wasn't thrilled with my Pinot Noir flight, he immediately took it off my bill and brought me a non-pinot in the pinot style that I loved so much I took a bottle back to the room, at a very affordable ($26) price point. When I was lazily backstroking through the pool (a last vestige of the building's 1929 origin as the Medinah Athletic Club) I thought how great it would be if one vacationing partner wanted to shop the Mag Mile and the other wanted to work out. The heated (but not too heated) pool was so huge that the three kids doing canonballs on the other side of the room didn't even make a wave in my lap lane. Besides the pool, there's a three workout room gym with both free weights and weight machines.

Beautiful lobby. Very nice hotel in a great location. Right on Michigan Ave. About 4 or 5 blocks from the Michigan Ave Bridge.

Amazing location. Amazing rooms. Comfortable beds and best of all...THE HISTORIC INDOOR POOL. I fell in love with this hotel and everything about it. If you are in town for business or pleasure, I highly recommend. Everything is within walking distance or a short cab ride away!
