There are two Intercontinental Hotels on Bora Bora. This has a bit more of an 'island feel.' I stayed in a beach bungalow which was preferable to an over-the water- bungalow because of the distance factor. It was 10 steps from the water and fabulous! I would have given this resort 5* if the service was better. The workers are not as friendly and helpful as at the Intercontinental Thalasso. Travelers that are service conscious with prefer the other resort.Recommended for:

This hotel is a piece of heaven. It is located on the main island of Bora Bora instead of on its own private motu like many other resorts; however I found the location to be ideal because it didn't require us to take a boat every time we wanted to go into town for dinner. The only possible negative I can say about this place is that it's very windy for some reason. Gusts were blowing pretty strongly during our entire stay, and I've heard many other people say the same thing. It didn't really impact anything in my opinion, but we made sure to snorkel in the morning and early afternoon before the water got too choppy from the wind. There are quite a few bungalows in this hotel, but it seemed like we had the place to ourselves the entire time. Extremely beautiful and peaceful experience! Don't bring kids - just bring your spouse or partner. There is nothing to entertain children and virtually no nightlife. It's definitely meant for a romantic vacation or honeymoon.Recommended for:
