I have been lucky enough to stay here twice!
I will say go to Moorea before Bora Bora though because it is very laid back and the other luxurious.
You would be disappointed if you did it the other way around.
The big draw here is the Dolphin Experience that is right at the hotel.
I stayed in the closest over the water bungalow to the dolphins and it was a fabulous experience!
Moorea is mountainous and has jungle which is very rugged so if you get the opportunity do a jeep tour.
The beach is not as pristine as Bora Bora but it is pretty darn good.
It feels like you are in another land.
The dolphin experience is a bit different from others in that it is a science center where dolphins are studied and bred.
I actually liked it better that some of the more touristy dolphin experiences I have been to.
You would not regret picking this hotel.

I really wanted to like this resort. It is located on a gorgeous beach and the accommodations are excellent. The food is good as well. There is also a dolphin encounter there that was fun. Do the shallow water encounter if you decide to do it. The "swim" with the dolphins was less than expected.
The problem we had was the service. We got the feeling that we should leave our money and go away. We tried to use the aquatics center 3 times while we were there and each time they had an excuse for us to not do anything. I guess it's a great if all you want to do is lay on the beach.

This InterContinental is known to be one the nicest resorts on Moore, and by all means I agree it is a beautiful property. Would it by my first choice of hotel? No, it wouldn't but that does not mean it isn't lovely. In comparison to some of the similarly priced hotels such as the Sofitel and the Pearl Beach, the Intercon has less character and sparkle. I felt more like I was in a very nice American hotel than in French Polynesia. All in all a nice place, but not my personal choice.
It is home to the spot where you can swim with dolphins so if you are willing to splurge, come by to play with dolphins and have a bite by the pool after.
