Description

If you're going to find mythical creatures anywhere in the world, it's sure to be Ireland. The Emerald Isle simply feels magical. Lush, green pastures dotted with silently grazing sheep, old timers jamming together on the fiddle and bodhrán in pubs older than anyone can remember, islands where the Irish language is as ubiquitous as the fishermen hauling in today's catch ... Ireland feels like ... read more
something out of a novel. And, for the most part, it is. With a literary history as long as the hills are green, it's no wonder dozens of world-class writers like James Joyce or Bram Stoker came from the Emerald Isle. If you'd like the 'gift of gab,' kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. Or, admire the sheer drops of the Cliffs of Moher, on the stunningly lush west coast of Ireland. For urban entertainment, visit Dublin, Galway or Cork for some craic (lively conversation) at a pub with locals, where it's easy to see why the country is experiencing a economic and cultural resurgence. Forget hotels outside of the cities; family-run B&Bs are everywhere. Ireland hasn't, ahem, been known for its cuisine, but this resourceful country is experiencing a restaurant revolution, combining international flavors with traditional Irish ingredients and recipes.
