This island is a great vacation from the bars, booze and beach cycle of Cancun (although you can still do the same thing here). It tends to be popular with ex-pats, backpackers, families, couples and more. The seafood here is excellent, the people are friendly and it offers quite a variety of activities.

Isla Mujeres provides a safe and fun location to visit or live. The locals are super friendly and helpful. Low crime rate(mostly petty theft) Awesome whale shark snorkeling! Fantastic chefs and restaurants. Great live music and entertainment. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Imagine a Corona commercial beach. You got it!

Great island off the north shore of Cancun, relaxing atmosphere in comparison to the busy streets of downtown and offers some great snorkeling spots up and down the island. Garrafon Park is down near the southern end and offers and endless range of activities to choose from including snorkeling, dolphin swim and ziplining

Find a boat and a slick captain. Time to go about 30 nautical miles off shore. Look for the footprints of a feed whale shark. Jump in a swim as fast as you can kick and take pictures with the whale sharks! One of the most majestic beasts I've swam with.

The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Clear blue waters surround this soft sandy beaches where restaurants, bars, hotels are located. My sister and I got massages on the beach for $30/hr here. Amazing! Come early before all the other boats get there. The island itself has so much culture and awesome food. Beware of shops catering to tourists that want to take you for everything you've got. Hopefully you're a good bargainer!
