    Tortugranja (Turtle Farm)

Carretera Sac Bajo Km 5, Fraccionamiento Mar Turquesa, Isla Mujeres, 77400, Mexico
    4
    4 reviews

This little sea turtle sanctuary is a sure-hit with most travelers. There are several enclosures with sea turtles of different ages and species and, typically, a tank of just-hatched turtles too. During the nesting season (May-October), one section of sand is fenced off, and eggs that are collected from nests around the island are transplanted here to protect them from ...

    Ultramar ferry terminal

The ferry terminal is currently being redone and looks like it will be quite beautiful once finished! As for now, it is a bit of an inconvenience as the space is unusable during construction, but I suspect on my next visit it will be a much better experience.

Nice statue along the shore walk on the ocean side of the island. It is not something to go out of your way to see, but it is a pleasant surprise when stumbled upon!

    Playa Sol

Less crowded than Playa Norte, but only a few steps away. Playa Sol is a bit better for the budget concerned, who are willing to sacrifice slightly clearer waters.

    Playa Norte

Rueda Medina 130, Centro - Supmza. 001, Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico

    5 reviews

Playa Norte is one of the best kid-friendly beaches in the Riviera Maya. A long strip of white sand on the northern edge of Isla Mujeres, the water deepens so slowly into the turquoise sea, you can wade almost a hundred yards and still be only waist deep. The shallow waters also mean that there are virtually no waves, making ...

For those who enjoy art and diving, MUSA is a wonderful art installation on the ocean floor about 40 ft down. It is between Isla Mujeres and Cancun, but much closer to Isla Mujeres. It's a nice spot to bring beginning divers or those divers who love playing with a camera!

Kind of an odd thing to see. This island in the Lagoon waters of Isla Mujeres is made entirely of plastic bottles. You can take tours during open hours or stand on the shores to marvel at the engineering!

I can't even begin to sing the praises of this dive shop. They arranged 8 dives over three days for my father and I. Pablo and Enrique planned out our dives and kept each dive experience memorable. Enrique was an attentive and helpful dive leader. Darwin helped us with gear switches and etc. Everyone here was so friendly and truly ...

Their beater bikes were a great deal compared to the other rental places on Isla Mujeres. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes with some wheels and a mission to circle the island. It's a great way to see more without resorting to a gold cart or moped!

Not the most gorgeous or modern church, but I loved the large virgin statue which watches over the square. It clearly is a dominating presence.
