If you are a Harry Potter fan even in the slightest than Islands of Adventure is a must visit amusement park for you. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is amazingly immersive and home to one of the most fun rides I've ever been on. A must go for sure and always worth revisiting.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks are a "do not miss" area of Central Florida. A great place for young and older family members. Your teenagers will have a great time also. This Theme Park is in two parks so plan a day for each part. Islands of Adventure is set in a circular path around a great lake with a number of family oriented areas to walk into and through to enjoy rides, shows and plenty to keep the whole family entertained. We loved the Dr Suess area and the Bluto water ride. Do not miss the Harry Potter world but get to it early as it crowds up fast.

This is just like walking on to the movie sets. If you like movies, this is the park. Love going and just walking from "set" to "set".
While they have eliminated a few things over the year, which I wished they would bring back, there is incredible detail for everything there.
I suggest watching the movies before going as many younger kids may not get as much out of it otherwise.

My favorite theme park in Orlando for adults. The roller coasters are scarier than what you find at Disney and the themes are still nostalgic enough to tap into that inner child.

Yes, theme parks are by their very nature slightly horrible, places where captive audiences are fed bad hotdogs and swiss-fried cheese at sky-high prices, and forced, again and again, to exit thru the gift shop. That said, rides are fun!!! So much fun that, for a day or even two, we can forgive the monumental hideousness of the theme park phenomenon, and just enjoy spinning, speeding, splashing and twirling around. Islands of Adventure, with its different "themed" islands, like Dr. Seuss Land or Marvel Comics Land, has some awesome coasters, and I fondly remember the day I skipped a conference in Orlando to go here and ride coasters instead. It's a distraction, yes, but as distractions go, a mighty nice one.

Awesome rides, great for adults and children who meet the minimum height requirements. The youngest of children are better off at other parks in my opinion.

Universal's Islands of Adventure is a great destination for tourists or local residents. It has a somewhat broader appeal than Disney's parks, having some attractions for children, but also more for adults.
They are lacking in size, however, due to their limited space. During winter months, if you avoid the water rides, you might run out of things to do before the day is over.
I, personally, found the Marvel theme to be outdated, and Dr. Doom's Freefall was very disappointing. There were no winter-friendly rides for adults in their Jurassic Park area. Also, Poseidon's Fury was a little cheesy at times. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter helps make up for these shortcomings, however, boasting one of the most interesting rides of any park I've seen, as well as some very unique shops. I recommend seeing the show at Olivander's.
All in all, the park is a must see, but it needs some work.

Island of Adventure is my favorite park in Orlando! It doesn't have the magic of Disney but it does bring the adventure! The rides are amazing and thrilling!
Although Wizard World of Harry Poter is now the big thing here, I still having Hulk rollercoaster and Spider Man my favorites!
It's not just the attractions that impress here, IOA also has the best theme park restaurant, Mythos. It is a fine dining restaurant of international food!
