    Old City of Jerusalem

    72 reviews

    The Western Wall

    54 reviews

This is one of those spots that shouldn't be left out on any trip to Jerusalem. There's so much history and grief contained in this spot. Even though I'm not Jewish it was so obviously such a special place and I'm so glad I visited.

There is so much going on in this one building, it takes a while to see it all. Each section has a vastly different feel. Definitely worth taking a guide book or a tour to understand the intricacies of the Church.

Every time I am in Israel I would try to get to Caesarea at least once. It is a vast Roman site with a harbor, restored old walls, wonderful restaurants and of course the Hipodrom, the Amphitheater, the Aquaduct, beach area for swimming, and aniquities from the Romans through the Crusaders and beyond. Spend at least half a day, but ...

A pre-dawn hike at this UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the most inspiring hikes I've ever taken. I hadn't realized that Masada was where Jews chose suicide over Roman enslavement. I had never contemplated preserving freedom through death, and visiting Masada gave me an even deeper appreciation of the freedom that has been my birth right in America. ...
