Excellent! - 96% of guests recommend

From the moment I walked in, with the heady aroma of lilies to welcome me, I knew this hotel and I would get along. You would never guess at its former prison identity, if it weren’t for the staff pointing out old initials carved in the marble columns. Currently, the exquisite décor, elegant furnishings, Turkish art, and excellent service have ...

Hmmm….modern, neon Turkish haram meets club scene? What could have ended up being tacky and loud was actually pulled off with class and style. This is definitely a modern hotel with quality décor and furnishings, and may appeal more to a hip, urban crowd. The room was comfortable and luxurious, with a nice patio to chill on. There were other ...

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I had dinner in the restaurant. Although the seafood menu was stellar, we were there for the view, which overlooks the water, the Hagia Sofia, and the Blue Mosque. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Reservations are recommended.

    Sirkeci Mansion

    Class:

If ever in Istanbul again, I would stay at the Sirkeci Konak without a second thought. I loved the location…it’s close enough to walk to all the Old City sights, or to the Spice Bazaar and Galata Bridge in the other direction, with plenty of shops and restaurants sprinkled around it as well. The hotel itself is a haven in ...

Of 12 Hilton branches and affiliated brand chapters in Istanbul, Hilton ParkSA occupies the more business traveller oriented end of the range. It is located in Maçka, almost opposite Hilton Istanbul (the first Hilton in town). This is an excellent location close to almost any important part of Istanbul. Hotel Sapphire

    Hotel Sapphire

    Class:

Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Hotel Sapphire is a very decent mid-range hotel in Gülhane area. It is far from the noisy main road that brims with thousands of people every day. So while this area is still touristy, full of hotels and restaurants and souvenir shops, you are saved from the clamour of the hectic corners. The hotel’s exterior does not give any clue ...

    Hotel Pera Palace

    Class:
    4.5
    5 reviews
Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

I've not stayed here since the recent extensive refurbishment, but loved the feel of a once grand hotel being slightly down at heel. Service was erratic, but that only added to the charm of a place steeped in history and with an illustrious guestlist ranging from novelist Agatha Christie to Greta Garbo. The hotel was originally built for guests of ...

    Grand Hyatt Istanbul

    Class:

    5 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Perfectly nice upper-end business-class hotel. The windows open! This is a fantastic asset in any luxury hotel, in my book--I hate being totally dependent on a/c. The furnishings are a tiny bit generic, in a 90s-looking way, but everything was in good shape when I stayed (August '12). In the business-class mode, service is not crazy-fawning, which I appreciate--no one ...

In Istanbul a good gym and spa is hard to come by unless you shell out serious cash. However in the summer of 2009 my wife and I purchased a three month pass to the gym, pool and spa at the Intercontinental. Lounging by the pool, gourmet sandwiches and going for a swim was a great way to minimize our ...

An above average mid-range hotel with an attached building holding some lovely suites, the Azade exudes an air of calm and tranquillity – an impressive feat in a city like Istanbul. This is a fascinating hotel situated in Sultanahmet in a very convenient location next to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy Hotel

Good! - 77% of guests recommend

A business hotel close to Ataturk Airport. If you’re a tourist I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying at the Sheraton Atakoy – it’s a very long journey into Sultanahmet or Beyoglu where the majority of the sights are. But if you’re a business traveller and you need a base close to the airport then this is a good option. It’s very ...

This is a great location. There's a tram line right outside the hotel. Although it seems to be in a weird spot in a "mall" it is really a nice clean hotel! The room I had was a little bit small but... it was clean. And very modern. And the staff were exceedingly nice! The warm cookies were great too!

If you’re after a hotel that’s in the heart of the city, this is it. You’re just a stone’s throw from the entertaining and a raucous night spots in Beyoglu, the shopping on Istiklal Caddesi, the trendy galleries of Cihangir and the cultural spots of Galata. However, while the hotel is off the main drag it’s not completely apart so ...
