Though I could not eat here (gluten-free), I accompanied my husband and ordered myself a Cafe au Lait. My husband loved the beignets, and I loved the atmosphere. It's a laid-back place, even with the hustle and bustle of the waitstaff. Sitting on the patio is lovely.

The muffuletta is one thing you must eat in New Orleans. That is, if you can eat it all. It is massive, but oh so delicious. A French Quarter original for sure.

I am not really into New Orleans, but I like the French Quarter and I like this place. They have a great Pimms Cup and their back patio is really nice. There's a lot of Quarter-style ambiance, without the trashiness of Bourbon Street. The food isn't anything exciting, but it's good, and the drinks are great.

    Pat O'Brien's Courtyard Restaurant

    0.14 mi from Jackson Square

Drinks were absolutely amazing at this bourbon street restaurant. The courtyard is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm New Orleans weather. For the real New Orleans experience, try the seasonal etoufee. If you've still got room after eating, try the pecan pie. It's huge, quite beautiful to look at and tastes divine. Also, make sure to grab ...

A work colleague and I were sitting at Pat O'Briens, enjoying our Hurricanes, relaxing after a long work week, being amused by the Bourbon Street people traffic, and wondering where we should go for Dinner. Jeff launched his Yelp App and I proceeded to look over the many options. I picked Café Amelie and with no disrespect towards my friend, ...

    Brennans

    0.24 mi from Jackson Square
    4.5
    15 reviews

The original Brennan’s family restaurant plays host to a bevy of ghosts. The upstairs Red Room holds the spirit of a sordid, past building owner who couldn’t handle his financial ruin and committed suicide after murdering his own family. He appears dressed in 18th-century clothing and peers in disapprovingly and forebodingly at revelers and workers in his room. Additionally, long-time ...

    The Court of Two Sisters

The courtyard/patio has such a romantic atmosphere. Tables are underneath an old blue wisteria tree lit up with lights in the evening. The food is good though I am sure there might be better choices for foodies. The bananas foster is quite memorable, though, and once again the ambiance is unforgettable.

It was 1840 when a young Antoine Alciatore founded what would eventually become one of the country’s oldest, family-run restaurants. In 1887, Antoine’s son, Jules, would take over the reins of the family’s fine-dining establishment and invent their famous Oysters Rockefeller recipe in his kitchen. Even though Antoine took ill in 1874 and died back in Marseilles, the chefs and ...

Back in the 1700s, the property where Muriel’s now stands was used as staging area for slaves that were to be sold in the area, and several of their ghosts haunt the restaurant. But, they have been mostly appeased by the owner’s blocking off a room for the ghosts and offering them a fresh loaf of bread every day. After ...

Billing itself as the Quarter's only microbrewery, Crescent City Brewhouse is right in the thick of things -- a block from the river and a block from Jackson Square -- and tidily earns its keep as a top-notch place to swill craft brews in New Orleans. Located in a very cool heritage building, the food menu features ultra-fresh seafood and ...

I wanted to go to NOLA, Emeril's restaurant, but I thought I was lost since I passed many closed restaurants on the walk from the hotel. Dim lights, a lively atmosphere, an inspired menu, and tattoo'd bartenders that make fabulous cocktails result in a memorable dining experience amidst a haze of food and drinks in the French Quarter. The restaurant, in a historic building of New Orleans, is a little segregated from the more densely restaurant-sprinkled areas of Nola. A server might recommend a wine that's ...
