Jose Andres' Jaleo serves up tasty Spanish tapas and sangria. Casual chic at standard DC prices. Solid service that satisfies a wife range of parties, from small to large, young to old, business to trendsetters and families.

Jaleo is a Spainish restaurant under the direction of famed chef José Andrés, Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as paellas, sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines.
The ambiance of the restaurant is festive and casual. Collages of photos of casually dressed people decorate the walls and even the bathroom floor. Some of the tables are glass supported by a foosball game. The servers seem particularly cheerful. It all feels like a lively party.
We started with a few tapas which were excellent, then went for a paella which could easily have served four people. The taste was very traditional Catalan style.Recommended for:Foodies

The legendary chef Jose Andres has a reputation, for good reason: at Jaleo, prepare yourself for a long evening of delicious tapas that are simultaneously traditional and experimental. The atmosphere was a little loud and a little crowded for my taste, but it was pretty typical for new, hip DC joints. Still, give stars.Recommended for:Trendsters
