Built in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Jane's Carousel, in its restored version, can now be found in the vibrant Brooklyn Bridge Park, a gift from Jane and David Walentas. It's not only exquisitely carved with 48 horses and 2 chariots, but it sits within a translucent pavilion, designed by award winning architect Jean Nouvel. While riding the carousel, you have unbelievable views of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. Perfect spot to take your kids for a fun day out. Open from 11 to 6, during the winter.

A great escape for the entire family, Jane’s Carousel offers a relaxing atmosphere for adults and stimulating, memory filled happiness for children. The carousel overlooks the water and gives the whole family a wonderful view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn side. Bring a picnic or wonder over to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory for a sweet treat, everyone will remember this day!

You will love or hate the glass box that surrounds it, but hard not to find this carousel charming. The views from here are spectacular. A nice place to relive your childhood (or create a few childhood memories) and it is only $2 per person.
It can be extremely crowded on weekends. Don't go anywhere near it on a Saturday or Sunday unless you like children.Recommended for:Family Travelers

A ride is $2 but the view is unbeatable. The restored carousel is charming and the park is a great place to visit. Wonderful views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge and the Manhattan skyline features the Freedom Tower and Woolworth Tower as well as many other sky scrapers.
