    Khaosan Tokyo Ninja

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

Cheap, clean, and friendly, it's hard to find such a great hostel anywhere in the world, let alone Tokyo. From the supercool, patterned exterior to the dope looking wooden bunks all the little details remind you of how thoughtful the Japanese are when it comes to the appearance of things. Plus the folks here are SO accommodating! The one draw ...

    Ace Inn Shinjuku

    Ace Inn Shinjuku

    5 reviews
Fair - 74% of guests recommend

While it's not exactly at Shinjuku Station like one may think by the name, it's only a few stations away. And while it's not exactly a capsule hotel like one normally thinks of them (more like well portioned bunks), it's still a great place to stay. I mean, considering the price and how centrally located it is, it's pretty hard ...

    Ryokan Sawanoya

    Ryokan Sawanoya

    4 reviews
Excellent! - 96% of guests recommend

Nezu and the surrounding area give off the impression of being both a smattering of both old and new. There are shrines and plenty of cheap local Japanese restaurants and bars of all shapes and sizes. Likewise this traditional hotel is certainly old fashioned, but with accommodating foreigners in mind. The hotel itself is kept extremely clean and has two ...

    Hotel Siesta

    Hotel Siesta

    2 reviews
Mediocre - 64% of guests recommend

Capsule hotels in Japan were originally conceived for business men travelling domestically in Japan and only staying in town short term. Siesta is a capsule hotel in that tradition and basically a cheap place to stay temporarily. The prices are really rock bottom. It’s 3,300 yen for a capsule (small coffin style room with only a bed and a TV) ...

SpaWorld - Onsen From Around The World

    3 reviews
Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

Ahh my favorite spot in Osaka. We stayed in the area at a place called a "hotel" but it was really a hostel so I opted to come to SpaWorld everyday of my trip for my baths. The building itself is a mecca so you won't be able to miss it. You can see it from the train coming into ...

    Dormy Inn Tokyo Hacchobori

    Dormy Inn Tokyo Hacchobori

    2 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

The Dormy Inn in Hachobori is one of the few rare examples where they aesthetically get the east meets west fusion right. The hotel exterior seems to be more modern western architecture, but upon entering the some of the more traditional Japanese staples, such as the wood block tables and chairs and a few of the decorations start to become ...

    Shinjuku Washington Hotel

    Shinjuku Washington Hotel

Mediocre - 67% of guests recommend

One of the most affordable rooms in Shinjuki. The rooms aren't big, but that's nothing new to anyone traveling through Tokyo. Clean and comfortable, with full bathrooms and TV. For the price, you can't do better while staying in a "nice" hotel.

    Hotel Fukudaya

Hotel Fukuda is an interesting blend between old and new targeted more at young people. The hotel itself is traditionally built having a green garden walkway entrance and the inside is quite old school right down to having to remove your shoes before you enter. Yet just outside and a ten minute walk to Shibuya Station guests can partake in ...

    Sakura Hostel Asakusa

    Sakura Hostel Asakusa

    4 reviews
Good! - 75% of guests recommend

Clean amenities and a great common area. There's not much more you can ask for in hostel. The environment is a little sterile and the variety of guests can vary quite a bit. But it's a really cool part of town near the Asakusa Temple. Make sure to walk down the little bar street at night for some interesting food.
