    Dormy Inn Tokyo Hacchobori

The Dormy Inn in Hachobori is one of the few rare examples where they aesthetically get the east meets west fusion right. The hotel exterior seems to be more modern western architecture, but upon entering the some of the more traditional Japanese staples, such as the wood block tables and chairs and a few of the decorations start to become ...

We didn't stay here -- just went for a cocktail. There is a cover charge -- I think it's 2500 Yen -- for the lobby lounge bar but we enjoyed every minute. There's a fantastic view over the Shinjuku district and an elegant atmosphere. We stayed for 2 anniversary drinks and loved it.

You can stay on the city side or on the side with a view of the bay. There's even a view from the pool. The park in front of the hotel has a couple hundred year old history. It's unusual. The city of Tokyo has the fewest parks per square kilometer in the world. You can feel kind of under ...

Of course we had to visit the New York Grill on the 52nd floor as we love the movie Lost in Translation and the iconic scene filmed there. However, at 8pm they impose a $100 cover charge just to occupy space in the restaurant! Even our first wedding anniversary couldn't justify this cost so we ate at the French/Italian restaurant ...

The Hyatt did not disappoint in any way shape or form. Nice crisp room, great bathroom, great bar, great food for a night in but make a reservation. There is a busy temple next door.
