    Tsukiji Sushi Sen (築地すし鮮)

    Akimoto Building 1F, 6-23-12, Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, 104-0045
    2 reviews

This is a relatively inexpensive sushi restaurant near Tsukiji Fish Market. While it is part of a chain, the quality of food here is quite good. Had a conger eel and maguro tuna rice bowl here that was large and filling. Conger eel is worth trying to compare the taste to the more well known, unagi. The rice bowl also ...

    Mister Donut

    4 Chome 7-14 Nakasu, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka-ken, Japan 810-0801
    2 reviews

Mister Donut is a popular donut chain in Japan that actually originated in America. A chain that did not last in the States thrives in Japan as it is one of the dominant donut shops. This shop is located on a prime corner in Nakasu and very convenient to the Nakasukawabata subway station. The donut shop is just about open ...

    Bread, Espresso &

    3-4-9 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku
    2 reviews

This tiny coffee house in Ometesando has a very obvious name. A bakery, cafe and coffeehouse all rolled into one! On weekdays, you can order a breakfast set for only $6 that includes one drink and one food item (panini or french toast) for about $6 USD. The french toast is served with a side of honey instead of syrup, ...

    Otsuru (王鶴)

12-3 Shinchimachi, Nagasaki, Nagasaki Prefecture 850-0842, Japan
    1 review

Otsuru is one of the many restaurants in Nagasaki Chinatown offering local Chinese-Japanese dishes like champon. Out front you will find fake replicas of menu items that they offer. The champon lunch menu set caught my eye, so I decided to give it a try. For 800 yen, you can get a bowl of champon, shrimp fried rice and almond ...

    Bonatt Curry Shop

9 Kagurazaka 1-Chōme, Shinjuku, Greater Tokyo, Japan
    1 review

Awesome little mom and pop curry shop. Exactly what Japanese curry should be. Flavorful, inexpensive and made with personality. Go for "asskicking (sic) hot" if you dare.

新丸の内ビル6f, 1−5−1, Chiyoda, Greater Tokyo, Japan
    5 reviews

I think the Tokyo outlet of this Sydney restaurant is better than the original. High quality innovative modern fusion in an attractive environment with attentive service. Perfect for a business dinner or special night out. The pre fixe dinner is exceptionally good value given the quality level. The wine list is extensive and pricing isn't egregious for Japan.

    Zarigani Cafe

原宿パークマンション 1F, 6−11, Shibuya, Greater Tokyo, Japan
    3 reviews

If you can overlook the "Smoking OK" policy, this cafe is a great off the beaten path place to relax over coffee or a drink. Sophisticated but rustic ambience.

    Yurakucho Yakitori Alley

    7 reviews

The alley lining the elevated tracks near Yurakucho Station in central Tokyo is famous for yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). Having a few skewers and an Asashi with salarymen fresh out of their offices in the financial district is an awesome experience, and quintessentially Tokyo.

If you love Kill Bill you really must go to this resto and get back in touch with your inner Crazy 88s. Food is fine, atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommend for groups as well. Great corp event if in Tokyo.

    Sushi Dai

    日本, 東京都中央区築地5-2-1
    5 reviews

Make good use of your jetlag and get up early (like at 4am) to get to Sushi Dai when they open at 5. Otherwise be prepared to wait up to 4 hours in line. We got there at 5:20 and ONLY had to wait 40 minutes. The sushi is top notch and the omakase is a fairly good deal.

    Angkor Wat

    1-38-13 Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
    3 reviews

It's always good to find a charming place represent Khmer food. This place is great, great food, I've ordered and ate most of the things on the menu. It's surprising authentic and it's less spicy to accommodate the Japanese taste buds.

    7-14-18 Roppongi, Minato, Tokyo, Japan
    3 reviews

Based in Roppongi Hills, this soba house has house-made, hand-cut traditional buckwheat soba. Get it cold with grated mountain yam and enjoy the space. The design is über-modern and funky—there's this totally shredded Al Merrick surfboard on the wall that's been made into a painting. It's just fantastic. There's also an outpost in New York City's Soho!

    Shin Hinomoto - Andy's(新日の基)

    2T-4-4 Yurakucho, Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan
    1 review

Great izakaya, fish-focused but very foreigner friendly (and named after the foreigner, Andy, who runs it). Good food and situated under the train tracks in Yurakucho.

    Toritama, 6-22-19 Shirokane, Minato-ku
    1 review

Tortitama is a rocking yakitori restaurant that specializes in rare and unique parts of the chicken. There's one dish in particular, a premature egg that's still connected with ovaries, which they grill. It's like eating an egg yolk—it just pops in your mouth. They also have an incredible boutique shōchū selection, as well as sake

    道玄坂ピア1F, 1 Chome-22-7, Shibuya, Greater Tokyo, Japan
    1 review

The "fab" in FabCafe is fabrication and this coffee spot is built around 3D imagery and printing. Stop in for the mother of all selfies -- a 3D image or play on the 3D printer. Very cool and they serve good coffee and sweets as well as beer and wine.

    Daiwa Sushi

Tsukiji Market Bldg, Tokyo, 13 Japan
    6 reviews

What a great experience! We came to Daiwa Sushi expecting it to be good, but not great, and a bit disappointed that hadn't been able to secure a reservation at any of the more famous Michelin-starred places for lunch or dinner. We were absolutely pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish, the atmosphere of the place, and the friendliness ...
