8-9 minute walk from the apartment. Beautiful gardens! Take a picnic lunch and watch the children float boats on the pond, play tennis, jog, or do as the Parisians do and pull up a chair and soak up some sun.Recommended for:Family Travelers

The Luxembourg Gardens was absolutely amazing! It's like the French version of Central Park, with chess games, tennis courts, and pony rides. There's something for everyone. My favorite part was the lake facing the Senate building with the sculptures all around. That part is such a great place to relax and read a book, people watch, or take a nap.

Paris is blessed with two massive gardens, one on each bank. There are tennis courts, beautiful fountains and lots of space and benches for you to relax on. Don't miss the Medici fountain on the east side of the gardens.

A quite big garden situated in the heart of the 5th and 6th sectors of Paris. If lucky you'll find a band playing in the garden and will be able to enjoy some music. If not just enjoy the greeness of the place - want to have a sandwich break, rest a bit, this is a good place to go.

I used to live by the Jardin du Luxembourg and spent many hours reading under the trees there (supposedly reviewing for my law exams!) - Paris is a little short on green spaces compared to London or even New York, so take advantage of this gem of a park, surrounded by some of the best shopping (St Germain) and eating (St Germain) in town...
