Hello Jason, we went with Thomson's last year to trek Kili and we had a great time and success! Thomson's is very organized and they helped our planning every step of the way. Their website is quite comprehensive and you can find out much about the different routes, pros/cons. We went with a longer less travelled one and it was well worth it. You should first decide which route you want to take. There are a number of various difficulties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kilimanjaro_climbing_routes
Then start searching online for reputable tour guides. There are a ton online but it is of course harder to negotiate and find truly excellent guides from outside of Africa. But it can be done.
Also check on the seasons. Certain times of the year are better than others. I believe the rainy season starts in November. See here for more info: http://www.climbmountkilimanjaro.com/first-time-climbers/when-to-climb-kilimanjaro/index.html
