I lived a block and a half from Lincoln Center on the upper west side. My two favorite memories are the sound of the kids from Julliard practicing their scales and the week that David Blaine spent underwater in a globe-shaped tank, trying to break the record for time underwater.

My Jazz at Lincoln Center experience was always linked with the performances at the Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola – no specific reason, just the choice of performances. It’s always been a wonderful experience. The room is cozy and just perfect for the shows that they have. You can order a drink or a meal while you are there – everything is served without much distraction from the show. The view through the windows behind the stage, with the Central Park in the background, adds to the magic of the evening. I like the convenience of making a reservation there without paying up-front – you just need to show up there 10 minutes earlier to keep your reservation.Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers

Some of the best performers in the world stop by to play. Timing can be challenging for someone visiting from out of town but if there's a performance during you're trip and you love Jazz, I would highly recommend it.
