Unfortunatelly one of the main touristic attractions of the city, the water fountain was not working, only between mid May and mid September. Initially bilt as a security valve of a hydraulic factory, turned out to be a city's attraction.

Situated at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhone River, Jet d'Eau is Geneva's most famous landmark, and one of the largest fountains in the world. It's visible throughout the city and even high above from the air. Five hundred litres (132 gallons) of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres (459 feet). Make sure you check the schedule prior to your visit, as it doesn't run nonstop. Jardin Anglais right by it is a great spot to stroll, have a picnic and take countless pictures. It's also where you can board a cruise on Lake Geneva. The extra perk is the wi-fi in the area, that works perfectly.

It doesn't sound like a giant jet of water would be very cool, but it is! The cool part is being able to walk out underneath it, just be sure you don't mind getting a little wet. The rainbows it produces during the day are always picture worthy.
