Lovely modern tower with great views of the city. The resident Grand Hyatt is no longer the highest hotel in the world but it still makes for a nice pit stop if you are in this part of the city.

Located in the financial district of Pudong, the Jin Mao Tower is an impressive addition to the Shanghai urban skyline. The Grand Hyatt is also based here. To view Shanghai in all its metropolis glory, I would suggest coming at night.

The Jinmao Tower observation deck on the 88th floor is my favourite of the current three megastructures from where you can enjoy stunning views of Shanghai. Although you don't go as high up in the Jinmao as in the Finance Tower (340 meters v. 474 meters) I don't think there's much difference between the two different heights, but the Jinmao offer 360 degree views of the city, which I find to be a better way of viewing Shanghai than the Finance Tower's slightly more limited view.
Try to come here in late afternoon. This way you can see both the daytime view and also enjoy the incredible sight of Shanghai turning on it's lights at night.

The Jin Mao Tower is one of the tallest in Shanghai and all throughout China. For a great view of Shanghai take the escalator to the top and take a look around. Of note: This tower is less than 15 years old and was completed in the mid-2000s.

One of the tallest buildings in shanghai! Went up to the 88th floor at the rate of 9m/second. As we were leaving, we heard music like a ice cream truck!! But there was no ice cream aboard this vehicle.... Instead, it was rushing by spraying water!!! The lies!!

I thought this was a really cool site seeing spot. Awesome 360 views, great internal building views, and plenty of space. The day we went, it wasn't crowded at all. Again, this tour was included for free with our ticket on Big Bus Tours. So we enjoyed that. It looked like tickets were about $14 per person.
