If you are interested in different religion, you show visit this temple. it's the biggest Buddhist temple in Shanghai, very well decorated, always crowded. the name of the temple means translate into English is "Temple of Peace and Tranquility". However, it's in the most luxury area of Shanghai, You probably wont find any peace or tranquility, but it will be a very unique experience..Recommended for:

Perfectly refurbished as if the last brick had just been laid down a few days ago, Jing'an Temple tries it's best to stand out in the irregular, chaotic mash-up of not even so good looking skyscrapers of the area, built at light speed in the mid nineties and twothousands. There is no point in keeping those new buildings around it. If I was the mayor I would surround it with a 200meter radium park. This is a relic to preserve.

I felt like this was a temple where I wanted to participate in the activities. You can see a variety of Buddhas and carvings, but I really wanted to light my incense here. Not because it feels contemplative but because its pretty active. I also threw coins with the locals, kids and some tourists all in hope of a most auspicious and lucky day.
